Yeshua bar Joseph of Nazareth was Jesus' name, Jesus was not the son of Jesus.

That translation is terrible, you are reading the account of Simon Magnus (Simon the Magician) who tried to buy the Holy Spirit from Peter and Paul after seeing it work in the minds of the called out ones, several weeks after Jesus Christ was killed.

That Simon Magnus took the knowledge he learned while observing the early apostles to Rome where he became Simon Patar (father of fathers) of Rome (the highest rank in the Roman Sun God worship pagan church).

There is a giant statue of this person (Simon Magnus) in the Vatican to this day; it is labeled Simon Peter (rather than Patar) and millions of people bow down and kiss his right toe every year in worship. This figure is the one who counterfeited God's true church and began the process of creating Roman Catholicism (Sun God worship disguised as worshiping the true God of Creation).

The apostles called him the son of the devil, because his spirit desired to have what God offers His people for himself; and set up a false version of His true faith which has deceived the whole world. This is "mystery Babylon the great" and how ancient pagan practices became popular in modern traditional christian lives.

Your OP is in gross error.

God Bless,

To help you all. Jesus written in both Greek and Latin sums up to 616, the number of the Beast in Hebrew gematria. However, since Bar-Jesus is a genitive form, the Greek name is written Βαριησοῦ (prop. noun. m. gen.) or Bar-Iesou, but English doesn't translate Latin and Greek genitives right, so it includes the proper noun masc. suffix as in latin, -us, rendering it Bar-Jesus. Βαριησοῦ is Strong's G-919.

i think your getting peter and paul mixed up, peter is the one who dealt with simon magnus.
in Act: 8 9-24.

bar-jesus / elymas was a self proclaimed prophet, that paul dealt with in Acts: 13-8

two different accounts.

So what about any of the guys running around today claiming they are Jesus?

I'm pretty sure that Wayne Bent, at least, isn't receiving his revelations from any God I know.

Since 2008, Wayne Bent has been in prison, serving a 10-year prison sentence for molesting a 16-year-old girl. Bent has admitted to having intercourse with his female followers, but despite this, he continues to claim to be the Messiah and holds on to the belief that he is innocent and that the government is persecuting him.

But since he claims to be Jesus, if I call him Satan. Did I just claim that Jesus is Satan?

Misleading? To help you here, I'll strip the story for all those sidetracks that confuse you:

Saul, who was also called Paul said (to Bar-Jesus which means literally «the Son of Jesus») “You son of the devil...”

Two entirely different people. Just as the two people you referenced in the op. This is the duality everyone misses when reading the bible.

Damn! I hate these emo thingies, can't tell what's what. Can we pretend like it's a friendly tongue, or is it too late for that? : (

Wait! I had some edit time left so I was able to get rid of it. Again, sorry. I hate those "barf" tags.

Exactly where does it say that he was a self proclaimed prophet?

it helps to read more than one version of the bible.

here in the KJV.

Acts: 13 6 - 12
6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him.
10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

as a matter of fact it also says it in the version you posted.
here a link to the page.

Acts 13:6-12English Standard Version (ESV)
6 When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain magician, a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus. 7 He was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the magician (for that is the meaning of his name) opposed them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. 9 But Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10 and said, “You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord? 11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and unable to see the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking people to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had occurred, for he was astonished at the teaching of the Lord.
Acts: 13: 6-12

also i went back to your op and it is even in that one, the very first sentence.

Indeed it does. Saul is the Devil. Eli Magus Bar-Jesus was the son of Jesus, he was indeed a magician and one powerful enough to match the demons of Beelzebub with the proper deceit and falseness.

4 When Saul Paulus meets the Son of Jesus, Saul Paulus calls him «Son of the Devil»...

I think perhaps you have managed to confuse yourself.

And even so, calling someone names is not the same as a translation.

It would be the same as this:

Miranda Priestly editor-in-chief of Runway has a son called David. David is a jerk and is rude to John.
John says to David: "You son of a b*tch. You are a selfish jerk."

Sally overhears this and tells her best friend about the incident. Does Sally say "Wow, John translated Miranda to B*tch today. I didn't know Miranda means b*tch"?

Nope. She says "John insulted David and his mother today by calling him a son of a b*tch."

Stupid example, but still applies.

Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, “You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?

Paul is insulting him. He isn't translating anything.

No, it is you who are confused with who is the subject and who is the object.

1: I say Paul is Satan.
2: Paul says Jesus is Satan.
3: I disagree with Paul
4: Paul? Well, he doesn't know me, does he?
5: I am confused?

Would you like to give me an in-depth analysis of the differences between Textus Receptus, Griesbach, Scholz and Tiscendorf who all agree with me on this? BTW. KJV and the Geneva and most other medieval Protestant bibles were more or less solely dependent on Textus Receptus. For instance, the Receptus text puts Satan in first person, giving the text its nickname Textus Satani in certain circles....

But still, unaware of the vomitting, you stood up against me, right before me-- as I revealed the name of the Son of the Seventh Son of the Seventh Son? Hm? And what did you say about him and me? And what would the consequences be?

Well, if you want to put it that way, then yeah, I guess so. But the title is in fact misleading, and multiple posters on here have explained why. I've learned a lot myself by reading their posts. Sorry you are taking it so personally.

Just because you repeat something doesn't make it more true. Sensible people will see who are misleading and dishonest here. And who's accusations are right and not.

Pointless? To me this is everything Jesus is about. He was a father and his son turned out to be a magician who was considered a false prophet by the same Jews who called Jesus a servant of Beelzebub. Go figure. Pointless..... Perhaps you're right. You guys wouldn't recognise the lightning even if it struck you smack in the head.

Okay, this is my last response.

The passage you quoted is referencing a a man named "Jesus", a magician, and false prophet.

It is not referencing "Jesus, The Christ".
