This is about open society vs closed.
In other words Terrorism cannot be fostered where an atmosphere of mutual distrust does not already previously exist.
What are we waiting for to happen?

The sooner people begin to realize the sooner the manufactured revolution. From a governmental standpoint, if you're gonna have to have a revolution, it might as well be one you control.
They have mastered this game LONG before any of you were born. If it took you 20, 30, 40 years to catch up, I'm pretty sure your #ed anyway. They control the money system, they control the education, they control public transportation, television, radio, HISTORY BOOKS. They control YOU!
Land of the free all right. Free to assume you're free.

Well done, WarminIndy.
Everyone who is concerned (and everyone SHOULD be) would do well to read Jeremy Scahill's book Dirty Wars. Then we should round up the war-crimes perpetrators in our own country, and remove them from society altogether.
It also reveals how the FBI and CIA fight like siblings, and withhold information from each other, not just from We the People. America appears to have gone insane, not just to the rest of the world, but to us, too. I can't imagine how more demoralized we can be without an actual revolution.

Ok if that's the case I'm fine with America developing more energy alternatives here at home closing our northern and southern borders ,stopping all immigration and travel, stopping all foreign aid spending ,shut down all military bases throughout the world, maybe we should just follow a policy of isolationism and let rest of the world deal with its own problems. I'm sure Russia,China, and North Korea would behave nicely if we were not part of the world picture lol!

Very good OP.
Americans face a very difficult task: how to put the toothpaste back into the tube. This is not going to be easy. It will require very wise political leadership and nerves of steel, For one of those rare times in history America is once more facing the task of facing up to itself.
It has done so in the past and those events were usually in very high contrast to business as usual or walking on international ground swinging a big stick.
The Civil War. The New Deal.
These were situations where very wise and determined leaders altered, very deliberately, the course of the nation, to steer it out of great peril. We are in one of those situations now. The country needs to be rescued before a younger generation grows up with the idea that what they see now is what has always been.
In the last 50 years or so the economy has had its ups and downs but the ethics and morality of the country have been in a prolonged and steep decline. The country cannot survive under such circumstances. It may exist as a military dictatorship and may be called the United States of America, but it won't be the same country.
There is a limit to the number and size of the crimes a nation's leaders can commit without bringing the entire nation into threat of the consequences of pervasive moral and ethical collapse.
When the security services of the country, in connivance with members of the nation's elite ruling class, cooperate in the importation of vast quantities of narcotics, the situation is perilous. That is only one instance of dangerous and reckless behavior that has become routine, practically institutionalized, in the United States. I could go on but I won't.
The United States is rotting out from within. I have no idea how the process can be stopped. It has gotten beyond the need for a coherent economic plan that addresses the real problems. Giving a liver transplant to a hopeless alcoholic is not a solution. How about a transplant plus incarceration? America's solution will have to be some kind of multiple whammy, because just one good idea is not going to cut it.

Your insights are impressive and well-expressed! Sadly, elimination of corruption would take decades or even years to happen.
