What gives you the idea that the movie will be good? The cast? The cast is only one piece of a movie. At the end of the day, this is Hollywood doing another cash grab by trying to resurrect an old franchise that has been out of the public's eye for a few decade. The whole, "Hey look! Nostalgia!" thing is getting old. I wouldn't bother getting excited about a movie like this until after I've seen and decided I liked it.

Well, I'm excited for this one. You are correct, the cast doesn't make a "movie" but it is a big part of it. A good script will make or break a movie without question. That being said, all of these cast members are SNL alum or cast members with the exception of Melissa McCarthy; who btw is extremely funny all by herself.

I'm keeping positive and seeing the ghost as half there instead of half not there.

Meh, SNL alum doesn't mean as much to me as it used to with this crop of actors. But like I said, this movie has to break through the nostalgia barrier that it appears to be riding to get money. If it truly is good in its own right, then awesome, but I wouldn't hold your breath. You'll just end up being disappointed.

Ok so if the premise really is that some tarot reading, ghost-hunting Wiccan chick stumbles on to the real thing with her buddies, why not just make that movie? Why steal the name Ghostbusters for it?

There is enough movie in that premise to make something deserving of its own title and concept I'm sure. You could borrow from the reality TV shows like Ghost Hunters to help create your movie and unlike Paranormal Activity you make this a buddy comedy. If you do it right, you might not even need a lot of CGI.

But that movie isn't Ghostbusters; it's something else and it doesn't need the old title to draw audience. There should be enough audience interest just from the things I already mentioned to get you going.

I'm proud to not recognize any of those names.

I'm sure the writing will be abysmal.

Yeah and his heart isn't in reuniting the old team since Egon died in RL.

Keep low expectations for everything & you're never disappointed!

How has hollywood become such utter crap over the past 10-20 years? I'm all for nostalgia but could they try not to suck at it?

Original ideas...ever heard of the concept??

Just remakes reimaginings & sequels....... seems to be 80% of what they release.
Thankfully there are plenty of countries making great movies and also the indies are still great so I'm not fussed.... but still, come on Hollywood!!

True, having a home entertainment system has gotten much cheaper over the years so it is easier to have the "movie" experience in your home. But there is definitely an oversaturation of moves being released. With how expensive movie tickets have gotten, you have to pick and choose the movies you want to go see.

Thats not the premise. That is a premise I came up with in an earlier post to say exactly what you are saying.

You are referring to my post right? Or did they release the story and I nailed it?

In a post on thw first page I suggestes they do a new movie with that story and cast and make it aomething completely new. I was coming up with a ready made hollywood plot on the fly.

It's going to suck.
