I don't understand how some people can be for the murder of innocent babies and at the same time want the scum of the earth to be kept in prison
until they die of natural causes, living better than most people in other parts of the world, incuding some here in the US. I don't understand why
they would want to pay to keep a disgrace to the human race alive for many years, warm, exercised, entertained, and fed. I don't understand why
people would want to kill innocent babies just because someone couldn't keep the consequences of their actions at the front of their mind.
However, I do understand the execution of murderers like Peterson and McVeigh, among many others. In fact, there should be many more added to the list
of the executed. This is not cruel or unusual punishment. What they did to their victims was, however, and there needs to be consequences for their
actions. How is sitting in prison a consequence? They have access to the internet, cable tv, a warm meal three times a day, literature, clean clothes,
a roof over their heads....and all from taxpayers' money. Where is the punishment in that? Some say that the punishment is living with their
crime...when do they have time to think of that? Also, some say the separation from family is punishment...don't they have visits and phone calls?
Think about the homeless in this country. Many of them don't have these luxuries and the only thing they're usually guilty of is bad decisions. Now
that makes no sense to me.
I was trying to be non-religious there, and I think I did a fair job at that. Now for the Christian in me. Murder is wrong, most people anywhere agree
with that. It says in Exodus almost directly after "thou shalt not kill" that "he who smiteth (kills) a man shall surely be put to death". It does
not say that "the psycho who kills someone shall live in prison until God decides to send him to Hell." It is not our job to condemn these people,
only to arrange the meeting between them and God, who will make that decision.
I do not believe that execution as a punishment is the same as murder. The executioner is not a murderer, but an administrator of punishment handed
down by the law of this land. If you do not like it, then leave.
