I don't understand how some people can be for the murder of innocent babies and at the same time want the scum of the earth to be kept in prison until they die of natural causes, living better than most people in other parts of the world, incuding some here in the US. I don't understand why they would want to pay to keep a disgrace to the human race alive for many years, warm, exercised, entertained, and fed. I don't understand why people would want to kill innocent babies just because someone couldn't keep the consequences of their actions at the front of their mind.

However, I do understand the execution of murderers like Peterson and McVeigh, among many others. In fact, there should be many more added to the list of the executed. This is not cruel or unusual punishment. What they did to their victims was, however, and there needs to be consequences for their actions. How is sitting in prison a consequence? They have access to the internet, cable tv, a warm meal three times a day, literature, clean clothes, a roof over their heads....and all from taxpayers' money. Where is the punishment in that? Some say that the punishment is living with their crime...when do they have time to think of that? Also, some say the separation from family is punishment...don't they have visits and phone calls? Think about the homeless in this country. Many of them don't have these luxuries and the only thing they're usually guilty of is bad decisions. Now that makes no sense to me.

I was trying to be non-religious there, and I think I did a fair job at that. Now for the Christian in me. Murder is wrong, most people anywhere agree with that. It says in Exodus almost directly after "thou shalt not kill" that "he who smiteth (kills) a man shall surely be put to death". It does not say that "the psycho who kills someone shall live in prison until God decides to send him to Hell." It is not our job to condemn these people, only to arrange the meeting between them and God, who will make that decision.

I do not believe that execution as a punishment is the same as murder. The executioner is not a murderer, but an administrator of punishment handed down by the law of this land. If you do not like it, then leave.

she asks IF pro lifers are hypocrites, and not that they ARE hypocrites. Of course she doesn't know if they all are pro lifers or pro choicers; that is why she posted this thread... to ask the question.

you've got a lot of anger in you, that is plainly obvious.

Um ... no. She wasn't asking IF the people were pro-lifers.
She was being sarcastic and posted to make it look like it was a
question about a bunch of pro-lifers who were cheering the death
sentence. (Yeah right ... a BLUE state, no polls taken, a crowd of
people interested in a judicial outcome ... AND trying
to make some bizzare connect to pro-lifers
)

And NO, I don't have a lot of anger in me. That isn't 'plainly
obvious'
However, I am annoyed at the author of this
thread for being so blatent with misleading people. What IS
plainly obvious is that there was no real question posted.
Just more mud being thrown at people who are pro-life. Dripping
sarcasim ... 'gee, they couldn't be hypocritical pro-lifers, could they?'
is NOT a question ... OBVIOUSLY it's just smear.

(and now people who have read this thread have been
mislead into believing that pro-life people were outside
the courthouse just frothing at the mouth wanting the
blood of the murderer.
Irresponsible posting!)

You are right. This thread should DIE.
It never should have been started to begin with.

Now I KNOW you aren't so OBTUSE as to think there are only Dems in blue states and Reps in red. Of course there are pro lifers and pro choicers in EVERY state in this great nation! SHOCK! Oh and btw, not all Dems in blue states are pro choicers. I'd appreciate you knowing that as I am in a blue state and im pro life. Imagine that.

Anyway, I'm movin' on. Your anger is affecting me and I won't have it.
Done.

Yeah right. Showing the obvious lack of common sense in this thread
by the author, and pointing out the unsubstantiated slam against a
certain group of people ... is anger???
Yeah, right.

Bu-bye now.

Just some FYI... Thou sahlt not kill is King James's poets words not the original hebrew words... Thou shalt not commit MURDER is more accurate... Murder = To lie in wait with malice and forethought....

I disagree with the Peterson verdict and am sad to see our judicial system in such ruin...

I am Pro-Life and Pro-DeathPenalty. Killing innocent babies is just crazy and should not be aloud. I am strongly against that.

I am, however, for the death penalty. In Genesis, God said that if anyone kills someone, man should kill him.

Lev 24:17-18
17 "'If anyone takes the life of a human being, he must be put to death.
NIV

Lev 20:1-5
0:1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Say to the Israelites: 'Any Israelite or any alien living in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the community are to stone him. 3 I will set my face against that man and I will cut him off from his people; for by giving his children to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name. 4 If the people of the community close their eyes when that man gives one of his children to Molech and they fail to put him to death, 5 I will set my face against that man and his family and will cut off from their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molech.
NIV

People who sacrificed their young infants to Molech did so for the blessings of good harvest from Molech. It was convenient to kill their infants instead of working and toiling for that harvest. In other words they did this for personal enrichment exactly the same reasons young women have abortions. What some of those ignorant of history like is an oxymoron is actually total consistent in a Christian's view.

The above passage explains in great detail why we Christians are so opposed to abortion and yet understand why this wife and preborn child murderer must die.

I would pray he repents before he reaps what he has sown.
