Do they mention the Crusade in those verses? No. They simply state "The enemies of Allah". Your "crusade" interpretation is your own, the text is what the text is. And this what the terrorists are doing. I understand you're a "moderate" muslim who doesn't engage in terrorism. You interpret the Quran differently, others like these sickos take it at face value. "Kill the enemies of Allah? You got it!"

How does killing those who "fight against Allah" in a Crusade translate to convert or die?
You don't understand the Quran in the slightest.
Good day!
I don't see how anyone could misinterpret "The Enemies of Allah". Is it anyone who does not follow Allah. Really that simple. Just as in the Bible, the "Enemies of God" were anyone who was not Christian.

Sorry... Crusade-like!!!
Your interpretation of "enemies of Allah" is also "your own" & that's what I question.
I don't see how anyone could misinterpret "The Enemies of Allah"
Would you kindly go explain that to the terrorists, then?

I don't see how anyone could misinterpret "The Enemies of Allah"
Because there is such a thing called context.
Exactly. Why aren't moderate Muslims standing up and declaring Jihad against these radicals?

Infact anyone can say who's the enemy of Allah and who's not. I could declare that Mcdonalds is the enemy of Allah just because they provide pork which isn't permissible in Islam. This is where the terrorists twist it up to suite their agenda. They could declare a fellow Muslim an enemy of Allah simply for disagreeing with their way of interpreting the Quran which btw something is something that has happened several times.
The first actual Jihad in Islam's history was against these sort of nutcases. They were called the Khawarij at the time.

And what give you the right to insult the religion of 1.7r billions people for the actions of a few radicals?I guess by your standard all catholics are pedophiles, all hindus are rapists etc...
Africa as a continent need an anti-terrorist unit that will deal with the likes of boko haram,AQMI ...It is sad that Nigeria has to go to something as horrific as this...
Of course, I know the anyone can interpret things differently, I was speaking to the mindset of terrorists, and I should have clarified. My point is the radical interpretation seems to be the most literal. I'm not trying to say the whole Quran is a handbook for evil, just that people say the Quran doesn't condone violence or terrorism when it really does if someone interprets it that way, just as the Bible promotes violence to those who interpret it at face value.

So you can see how " anyone could misinterpret "The Enemies of Allah" " then?

That's much more realistic imo.
& a great point.
The illiterate will have to rely on others to do right by them.
But only one needs an agenda to indoctrinate masses.
Considering it's a tribal thing, especially in Nigeria, it would be down to leadership to educate the rest...
In such places one can make others believe they are being given revised Prophecy or a change of Godly strategy...
Without anyone having to pick up a Quran.
Muhammad is the final Prophet to us...
But the Quran also states that others will prophecise or have the ability to abrogate (reconsider) a Verse...
Is there violence in the Quran?
Only in self defence!
Could that be interpreted differently?
I don't see why not!
But I stand by everything else I've said as well...
In the sense that there are always going to be other factors besides "it's a religious thing".
