Worrying thing is the UK and other EU countries have been turning a blind eye to members of our society going over to Syria to try and topple the regime there.I think now they are catching on that it was a pretty bad idea to have Syrian trained terrorists come back

I wonder what weapons these groups got from Libya and Syria,and it wouldn't surprise me if a commercial airplane will be downed sometime over France one day with their Benghazi fire sale

The victims of the terrorist attack are described as such:

They are the magazine’s editor and cartoonist, Stéphane Charbonnier, known as Charb; Bernard Maris, an economist and writer and the magazine’s deputy editor; and three more cartoonists: Jean Cabu, Georges Wolinski and Bernard Verlhac, known as Tignous.

Five other staff at the magazine are believed to be among the 12 dead.

Also killed were two police officers. They have not yet been named.

This is an interesting scenario, considering everyone's eyes are on ISIS. If they really are Al Qaeda terrorists, then it could be possible that the attack was perpetrated by Al Qaeda in trying to get back on the map after being significantly reduced by its...competition...

Still, i would say that it is too early to discern the finer details. I'm sure more information will come to light as time progresses.

Radio France, Le Monde and France Télévisions have put out a statement saying they will offer staff and other support to help the Charlie Hebdo magazine “continue to live”.

They invite all French media to do the same, “to defend the principles of independence, freedom of thought and expression, the guarantors of our democracy”.

Just saw the footage of the cop getting shot... I'm horrified and really sad right now.
You can just see that these guys know how to handle an AK-47 and how to move with it in a "Combat situation". There's nothing casual about them, this looks trained. The pattern of the bullet holes in the police car windshield shows that they know how to handle these guns, too.

I have to admit that now is the time that secular muslims make themselves clearly and louldy heard and codemn these acts and extremist islam. If not, this will start a whole other mess and getting the right wing parties all over Europe more confidence in condemning all muslims :/

I want just to point an curiosity about this terrorist attack:
The bodies numbers are higher than the victims. (at this point I believe 12 dead and 3 in critical condition)
This may prove, in my opinion, it was very well planed and executed by professionals (maybe military), with accurate shoot to kill mission.

Not to be 'conspiratorial' but if you look at the original footage of the police officer being shot, there's no blood coming from him. After a volley of 8 shots, he is apparently down.

Then he apparently gets shot in the head. His head doesn't react to a point blank range impact, and there is no blood after THAT.

Can someone maybe explain why that would be? There's no a single drop on the cement. I just thought it was odd. Not saying it didn't happen.
