Deflection noted.

What deflection?

It was your example.

yeah , the hypocrisy is claiming to want equal rights for the cause , all while chanting "black Power"

fighting supposed divisiveness with more divisiveness.....

If they want to fix things, then come together with all races.....

so yes the stupid it hurts..........

So it was merely the misconstruing. Too bad.

When people with guns chant "black power" what exactly is there to misconstrue?

If it was a bunch of white people standing around with guns and chanting "white power" while talking about going after a group of "black " cops, you would be up in arms.......

Your agenda is clear here on ATS

(Can I say many?) Professionals disagree with you.

www.mayoclinic.org...

www.academia.edu...

www.montgomerycountymd.gov...

And yet, not in the DSM or recognized by the AMA... so... there's that.

And yet all the cases in the Utah argument you presented were deemed justified by courts.....so there's that......

You say excited delirium isn't real because the AMA doesn't recognize it.

I explain that at one time homosexuality was labeled a mental illness and disease by the all of the major assosciations, yet was later revised.

Many professional organizations and assosciations do recognize it and the AMA could eventually too.

Your response is about cops killing people because they are gay.

You deflected from the fact that because homosexuality was improperly labeled at one time and the major assosciations had to change it, the same could happen with excited delirium.

Things are added, removed, and changed. It happens.

Yeah and homosexuality used to be labeled as a mental illness/disease.

Not like people could be wrong or anything.

Cops were using that diagnosis to beat and kill them too.

And their using people with a badge as an excuse for violence.........your hypocrisy is glaring

Do you think "Black Power" and "White Power" mean the same things? That would be another thing you have misconstrued, it seems.

yes I do, I think racism in any form from any color is ignorance of the highest order......

if you think theres a difference then its again obvious what your agenda is , and its also obvious that you are NOT for unity......

You seem to think racism is a one sided issue......

I reject your ignorance......these people are wrong as well as anyone that advocates for the whole sale harm of any group of people...

"Black Power" means to advocate solely for African Americans. "White Power" means to solely advocate for White Americans.

Sooo, yeah. They are the same thing. Racism is racism, is doesn't matter which race is dishing it out.

You're more likely to be killed in domestic violence than by cops in Utah.

But nah, cops are the problem.

Yea no cops are part of the problem. But cops don't have a lock on it.

You're at least twice as likely to be the victim of domestic amuse if your partner is a cop.

thefreethoughtproject.com...

That's just cops on the job. Those numbers don't even include the cops that kill their wives in domestic incidents.

Ahh so we're going all over the map to make a point now? Article about Texas, so we bring up Utah. Numbers cited in Utah so we cite other numbers from across the nation.

You're more likely to be killed by a person than by lightning. Avoid people, live in thunderstorms.

You yourself are deflecting from the larger issue. That being that the police used homosexuality, in your own example an erroneous mental disorder, as justification in persecution of people that weren't actually doing anything wrong, simply because of their sexual orientation.

And before the Civil Rights Act, even MORE blacks were killed by cops.

But, you know what, this time the cops are getting it right. Right?

If cops weren't so secretive about how many Americans they were killing each year, we could get the numbers from a single source.

White Power is a means to keep all other races down.
Black Power is a means to bring black people up.

Pretty big difference.

While I agree with the need for a cohesive set of data, how that ties in with domestic abuse in Utah, gangs or drug deals in Utah, cops shooting people in Utah, or a militant gang in Texas is beyond me. As I said, going all over the map to make a point.

Or living in thunderstorms, either.

Cops kill people.

Wherever we have numbers for it.

Cops are killing people.

Know how many cops are killed in the line of duty each year?

Between 100 and 200, depending on the year.

Here is a list of jobs with higher lethality than being a cop.

1. Logging workers
2. Fishers and related fishing workers
3. Aircraft pilot and flight engineers
4. Roofers
5. Structural iron and steel workers
6. Refuse and recyclable material collectors
7. Electrical power-line installers and repairers
8. Drivers/sales workers and truck drivers
9. Farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers
10. Construction laborers

Why are cops killing Americans at the rate they are?

The black community is killing more black people than cops are.........are you calling for their deaths too?

Seems to me what you are advocating for is the whole sale slaughter of the police

May I recommend to everyone else on this thread to cease engaging this particular poster, this mindset is unhealthy and only serves to draw people in .....

you need to step back Arrow, and take a break man.....please, your mindset seems pretty extreme right now and I think you need to put some serious thought into the things youre saying

More of your misconstruing.

Should we hold our cops to a higher standard than we hold our criminals?

Those number are not per capita.

Cops kill far more people than blacks do per capita.

If you follow my posting history, I am not a big backer of cops. Some cops here thought that I might be a cop hater, but I try to explain my position to them as the need arises.

Here is a list of jobs with higher lethality than being a cop.

Anyway, here is an honest question for you:
How many workers in the fields that you posted get sued for attempting to protect themselves from being killed in their line of work?

Likely because the population in America has grown with a very sharp curve in the last 100 years and that is going to make the numbers go up. Another likely factor is the ones they are killing are committing crimes in the majority of cases. I would bet if nobody committed crimes there would be a LOT fewer cops killing people.

However, non-cops are justifiably killing more people than cops are every year....why are they doing it....typically a criminal is doing something wrong to them....again....don't be a criminal and your chances of being shot by ANYONE at ANYTIME become so small it likely ranks at the bottom of the list anywhere in stats.

Is that justification for killing citizens? Kill them so there isn't a lawsuit? Pretty weak position.

People are killing people. In far greater numbers than cops kill people.

As I said in my initial comment, cops don't have a lock on killing people.

I'm done chasing you wherever you think you can make a point. Nobody here said cops have the most dangerous job in the world.

Seriously. It's like arguing about not emptying the dishwasher and next thing I know we're talking about how the dog peed on the floor three months ago. I'm done here
