Dude. We are having fun with this stuff. Like you said, the MARK does not come into use until the Antichrist takes power as well. We don't even know if the Anti-christ isn't among us, slowly getting into position? haven taken to power yet.
If you think my knowledge of the topic is lacking in education, please give some constructive criticism instead of being a douche-bag.

I'm new to ATS (been a lurker for a while) and thought I would post some interesting things regarding when Antichrist will appear, as well as the whole microchip 666 topic.

There are a few different ways of looking at the mark: that it is an actual physical mark, (microchip, implantation of some sort) or that it is a metaphorical mark, more dealing with the spiritual aspect of things, or a combination of both.

I honestly don't think the Antichrist has been born yet. We are probably in the prep period, but as for his actual presence here, I don't think he's here yet (I'll explain why I think that). The world has to be ready for his appearance, and ready to receive the mark.

As of right now, there would be no need to receive the "mark", and if we did, it would only be out of convenience (if the mark was to be a microchip). If the mark was a microchip, the world has to be in a place where it gets so bad, where people are starving, cold, completely depraved of any comfort, and morally bankrupt to want to receive the mark, because it would provide them with basic needs. In order for this depravity to happen on a grand scale, it would have to happen through nuclear war or some other global devastation.

As it says in Revelation 13:16-18:

"It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
18This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666."

What, then, is the real reason for the mark? What is the point? Looking at it from a Biblical stand point (since, well, Antichrist is the opposite of Christ), it has to do with the complete denial of Christ by a person.

It is this denial of true Christianity that constitutes the principal reason for setting the seal of Antichrist. Clearly, then, the acceptance of this seal is not connected to any trademarks or commercial marks on documents, money or even on the flesh (for example, prisoners in labor camps wear numbers on their clothing, and slaves used to be branded). This is not the seal of Antichrist. The acceptance of the mark must be joined with a conscious denial of Christ and the acceptance of the law of Antichrist.

In a spiritual sense, this satanic mystery - the imprinting of the mark of Antichrist - will be the antithesis of the Christian Mystery of Chrismation, which, we recall, is the placing of the seal of the Holy Spirit, while imitating its external form. Just as in the Mystery of Chrismation, the priest anoints the newly-illumined on the forehead and hands, so, too, in the placing of the mark of Antichrist, his servants may well anoint people with some kind of "sacred" oil, which will symbolize the voluntary acceptance of Antichrist and his religion. The iconographic tradition of the Orthodox Church supports this supposition. In the iconographic sketch, illustrating the pouring out of God's wrath upon those bearing the mark of the beast - that is, the seal of Antichrist (Rev. 16:1,2) - we see satan wearing a fiery three-horned crown (symbolizing the trinity of evil); he is signing people on the forehead with the mark of the beast - the seal of Antichrist. Moreover, he is using a brush, dipping into a vial that he is holding in his other hand (The Illuminated Bible, 1914). Why is it that the illustration depicts satan himself placing the mark?

Because it symbolizes his spiritual presence among those numerous servants of the religion of Antichrist, who will actually place the mark upon the peoples of the earth.

Of course, the sign of Antichrist may be placed by means other than a brush - by some other "sacred" instrument or simply by the hand of a servant of the universal (Antichrist's) religion. Whatever the actual means, the aim is to induce people to renounce Christ.

As for Antichrist not being born yet, I read a prophecy saying certain things have to happen before he is born. Among the many things that must take place, is one prophecy by Saint Seraphim of Sarov who died in 1833, indicating that an eighth Ecumenical Council must happen.

An Ecumenical Council is set to take place in 2016, and among the topics being discussed include the persecution of Christians throughout the world, especially the Middle East. I heard a rumor Pope Francis may attend, but not participate, as the Churches are not united.

I really think the general consensus of the AC 'Mark' (name/number/symbol) is inaccurate
the present day RFID or implants or cashless transactions... all that effortless payments & transfers of monies will have had a long-time proven track record of being 99% secure & foolproof in a wide swath of the worlds different nations...

My first reaction is yeah, right. Total dumbness.

But it is kind of weird that words written 2 thousand years ago describe today's reality.

Still, it's a long way from having 7 billion people implanted with chips. My guess is that will come in response to some global pandemic, with microchips that somehow protect people from catching a virus or something.

Not really. The people behind GMOs are in the food industry. People wanting to put microchips in your wrist are in tech or banking industries. Completely different sets of ideologies and desires. Both like making money though, so it can appear to be the same thing, but it's not.

They dont need to implant a chip in your wrist, just get google to add it to a new app run wristwatch and watch the zombie masses jump to buy it as its going to be 'cool', get them the girls and help be popular with friends.
