Yes, probably, most likely. But to me it looks like two astronauts, one standing with a long gun and the one sitting with something in front of his head, like a big camera.

Likewise, the laser analyses were done at nine different focus settings to obtain one good set of data. In the meantime, the team went back to the drawing board. They figured out that if they discarded a lot of the old code on board their distant subject, they could make room for software that could command the instrument to take the nine images on its own and analyze them on-board to find the best focus.

Interesting, but as this is not a Curiosity photo I think that a thread specifically for this could be the best option.

After noticing that there were no updates for 3 weeks I went looking for an explanation and found this.

Mars has passed through solar conjunction, and reliable communication with the spacecraft at Mars is possible again.

ah , mars is the farside of the sun, buried from view, its been a while , i hope they take some more pictures of the same spots , see how the environs may have altered over this duration .
