I thank God that I don't live in crapholes like Oakland and NYC, where this is happening.
They were also screaming in some patrons faces & grabbing at them, from what I read.

I think you just touched on why people feel the need to engage in this type of protest. Apathy for issues that don't affect oneself which is fine for issues that don't arise because of systems and policies, not so much when they do.

Also, human slavery today is unlawful, and the buying and selling of human beings is--in the US at least--a black market.
200 years ago it was completely lawful to buy humans for slave labor.
Pretty big difference.
Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
Are you kidding? Sharpton would shart his shorts in glee if that happened. Imagine the PR: "Racist restaurant owners force blacks from premises, calls racist cops who perform arrests"

Yeah, there is no reason for these protests, except within their own communities.
Protesting this BS of white privilege, where "white people" are eating breakfast is about as clueless and moronic as it gets.
The backlash will not be where the protesters want it to be, it will be on the jerkoffs disrupting the daily lives of people that have nothing to do with their anger.
And...I can't wait to see where the business owners throw them out, have them trespassed and possibly arrested.
Also, IMHO, gone are the dignified protests of Dr. King and his friends and now we have the mob mentality and tactics of the Brownshirts.
Even a poorly constructed thread designed to evoke a certain response can still give birth to some thoughtful discourse.

This thread is full of violations of the terms and conditions on ATS and reads more like a middle school Twitter feed and you know it. No, it is not worthy of ATS. The OP source was not objectively reported nor written but clearly "worked" to develop the response being sought.
Hook...line...sinker.
We are better than this knee jerk reaction...most days.
Peace
