If aliens invaded the Earth

Hypothetically speaking loll. Does anyone else think that this could be humanity's last ditch to effort to work together against a common enemy? I read the news every day and all I see are people either committing suicide bombings against each other in the Middle East, school shootings taking place here in the USA, people robbing each other, banks taking over the world, countries destroying each other for each others' resources. Its sickening. What if, a race so advanced eventually invaded us, would you all think we would join forces against them? I feel like there will always be those humans who will make some sort of pact with them to eradicate the others, since we tend to be highly selfish beings. I won't lie, sometimes I do wish a crazy advanced race like Predators attacked us so we can finally get a dose of our own medicine. I guess what differentiates us from other animals is our ability to reason, and frankly, we are worse than other animals in many aspects. Just some food for thought for you all, let me know what you all think.

Most likely not. There's people like me that would try to side/collude with the aliens for my individual benefit

I think most people would like it. Depends on the type of invasion though. If it were an invasion to kill everyone like Independance day, then ya, most would be freaking out. Lots would prob not care though. If you're gonna die, ure gonna die right? But if it were an invasion from a higher intelligence, higher consciousness type of alien, I think people would be happy to see our usual ways come to an end. An end to our hierarchy in society, the 1%. An end to the fear. An end to our oil based economy. An introduction to true freedom, love and acceptance. If there were an alien invasion that could come here and help that happen, I, along with many others I'd hope, would welcome an invasion like that...

Why should an E.T. race waste their time in fighting with us. What a stupid idea. Humans ideas it's sad.
As long as we are killing and torturing us here on planet earth, why should they come?
It would be foolish.

Well, I would think the earth would have many resources these foreign invaders could use, I mean, enslave us all, take our water, trees, etc, and possibly exterminate us in the end once they are through with us.

Well I believe the Intelligent Beings who would invade Earth, would have to be exactly like us so they can even live here...survive on water, breath our atmosphere, handle our gravity and enjoy a 24 hour day, 7 day week, 365 days a year. They would also have to be able eat all of the food you can grow on Earth.

Why would an advanced civilization so similar to us, destroy us and take over Earth? We would have to cause war with them in order for an invasion to occur.

Unless we are the unlucky planet to be tested on with some advanced planet destroying weaponry, or Intelligent Beings just invade us for a drill. I think these two scenarios are unlikely.

Or a scenario could be the Intelligent Beings are very much like a virus and discover Earth, and consume the planet till there is nothing left so to speak.

Hurry up, INVADE NOW, Before they screw it up. OOP'S , they already did. INVADE NOW.

Reading a lot about these posts, we tend to assume that these intelligent beings are a friendly, amicable species. I saw the movie called Battle Los Angeles and boy, those aliens were hostile as f*ck!

If the US government meets them first and they are corruptible then they will sell the human race in the name of security for the human race.
Hopefully if ET shows up they announce themselves to everyone so that government can not cover it up.

I think that the time is over to do that. If there would have been ever such an intention by beings watching us, they already would have invaded us. Consider the quality of our earth resources and the water nowadays. And why exterminate 7 milliarde people earth population. Went back some thousand years that invasion had happened with extremely less population. but we still live here.
Or maybe we are the descendants of these invaders from that time?

Well the plot synopsis of the movie was the Intelligent Beings who invaded Los Angeles in 1942 and we fired 100's of rounds of ammunition at them (this is one of the most famous UFO cases ever), they return 70 years later for revenge (the movie). So I think a straight up hostile invasion would be some sort of repercussion that we caused.

Taking our water, minerals, or rare metals, etc....They could easily go to a planet that is abundant with said resources that has no Intelligent Life on the planet. For example we have discovered a planet made entirely of diamond. Why come to Earth to take our diamonds, when they can go to a planet made of diamonds?

INVADE ANYWAYS.

very much doubt we would be invaded battle LA style.
if an aggressive species cam here one of two things will happen
they will realise a toxin into the biosphere that is deadly to us but not them and walk in when the dust settles
or they would arrive with over whelming force and either subjugate us or destroy us
in much the same way Europeans did to all of America several hundred years ago
a fight back against a race advanced enough to mount the mission to get here in force
would be as much use as "no offence to natives" the American Indian peoples north and south against
the conquistadors or the British east India company.

there might be some aliens that would like to invade our planet but no I dont think that will happen anytime soon
maybe some small group visits and demonstrations of their abilities but not an invasion
