That's wicked. A cyborg gorilla with a laser rifle would be cool but then again I could be being silly.

i have some cyborg gorilla source images, actually. That is much less far fetched than you'd think.

I used one of them last year to make this:

thank you Gordi for your summer avatar prompt. doesn’t have to be a competition, I still had fun putting this one together. of course it is winter here in Australia and it’s even miserable today which might have found its reflection.

and there’s another thing I would like to discuss with you all here

I wonder what you guys think whether this thread with your great creations gets enough attention because I think it doesn’t - but I might be wrong. is it just me who thinks there are too many generic gray background and green text type of avatars around, all potential canvases for your art. you are all great artists and designers and it’s a shame some other great talents are not frequenting this thread anymore.

so I further wonder whether there would be any other options to advertise this thread with its avatar creation services.

e.g. I often think it is a shame never to see anymore many of the ‘texan’s avatars he used over time. that goes for many others also. sometimes one of you takes reference to an old avi and I can’t visualize it anymore or just wish I could see it again.

so I have this idea, what if some of you would collate your avatars and other creations individually in the Member Art section. I’m sure a lot of members would love to see your collected creations! in addition there could be a mention to the services in the Avatar Creation 2015 thread.

Aww Thanks Ek! Much appreciated!
You know... It's just struck me that I may not have mentioned "SpotTheDog"?
Spot was my Border Collie (and best bud) in the years leading up to me getting married...
Here we are on a remote Scottish beach, about 15 years ago? (Sorry for rhe fuzzy pic.... it's a crappy phone pic, taken of an old photograph)

He was a great dog. Very smart. He always knew when to give you "that look" when you were being an idiot!!! LOL

Thank YOU Sans!

TBH - The summer here has been a complete washout

My "Summer" avatar would probably contain an image of Noah's Ark being washed away in a deluge of epic proportions!
It actually dropped to 1 degree Celsius the other night.
Yup, ONE DEGREE ABOVE FREEZING! in the middle of our summer????
Wettest July on record, 240% average rainfall for the time of year.

August has started..... exactly the same!

OK, whoever is doing the rain-dance, you may have to stop soon... or direct your energies towards my friends in parts of the USA and Oz who might need it more than us rain-sodden Scots?

yours soggily!

sorry to hear about your washed out summer. that's just horrible. so you were not effected by the heat wave in Europe?

and 1 degree on a summers morning - i would leave. that's why i live in Australia, escaped the way too cold winter mornings. i remember people scratching their frozen windscreen windows or car batteries not starting, black sooty piles of ugly snow or having to dig out your path before leaving to work, standing waiting at the tram station with frozen feet, still in the dark...

yesterday, we had the most beautiful hot and sunny winter's day here and today seems to bring the same.

think about it, Gordi. no amount wishing the sunshine your way on our parts will get it there, sorry, i wish i could help.

hope i haven't overwhelmed others with my ideas in my earlier post. maybe it was just wishful thinking.

If it makes you feel better...it is 102 outside (39 for you folks across the pond). I saw Satan laughing maniacally on the sidewalk.

It wouldn't be so hot if it wasn't for all that fur.

Yeah, thanks for that. I think! LOL

Are you all sitting comfortably???
The Sun.... (briefly) shone today!!! (I know, because I saw some locals throwing rocks at it!)
Temperatures rocketed to double figures!!
...and now it's cloudy and grey again! (It would never do to have too much excitement in one day.)

Ach well... There's always tomorrow...
