I know I thought the same thing melted drone...
It has been so amazing to watch this eruption from the first earthquake rumbles at the beginning of March.
It seems to keep giving us volcano watchers new surprises.

I had a chance to get up close to a lava flow from Kilauea 30 years ago. It was slow lava. It made a sound as it ate the ground under it and the heat it radiated was...hot.

But people started getting really stupid about it and getting hurt and the National Park Service started saying, "no, just no." Probably for the best. People can be idiots and unfortunately evolution doesn't work if they have already bred.

Don't agree.

Let the idiots get hurt.

I am sick and tired of my freedom being suppressed for the sake of idiots.

These days, they won't listen so ... let nature have her way.

"What's that sign over there, by that fissure?"
"Oh, that's Old Bob's Toast."
"Someone made toast there?
"No, that's where the idiot fell in after he started jumping up and down on the crust of lava to see how strong it was."

Yes having a healthy respect, even healthy fear, using your common sense when given the chance of actually seeing these amazing volcanics in action. Curiosity, wonder, adventure is a good thing just use your noggin. It’s like at Yellowstone they have pathways constructed for people to walk on to see all the sites in the park with caution signs everywhere saying stay on walkway crust may break water is hot, hot, hot but every year people ignore & they get hurt sometimes fatally.
The video with the people up close & personal was from March 30th . Last night April 6th a third fissure opened up connecting the two that were already flowing. The authorities have thought “no, just no” & closed off the area to most at this time.
Remember Hot, Hot, Hot.

Volcano erupts in St Vincent, Caribbean

www.usatoday.com...

The La Soufriere volcano erupted Friday morning on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent, shooting ash several miles high into the atmosphere.

The eruption followed mandatory evacuation orders from the government. Roughly 16,000 people live in the "red zone" near the volcano and required evacuation, according to Erouscilla Joseph, director of the University of the West Indies' Seismic Research Center.

Ashfall had already reached the country's airport on the opposite end of the island nation shortly after the eruption, the country's disaster risk management agency said. Heavy ashfall also was reported in communities around the volcano, Joseph said.

“More explosions could occur,” she said, adding that it was impossible to predict whether any potential upcoming explosions would be bigger or smaller than the first one.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

hope nobody gets hurt.

So only the vaccinated can be evacuated. The rest are place on ‘safe Houses’ on the island.
I’d still prefer to take my chances with a volcano than have the other option.
