As I said, that was just one news article's take on it. Not saying they were right or wrong, because I myself don't know. Who knows, we may never truly know who's behind today's hostage taking, then again, they may announce it when it's all over. Again, I don't know.

Have you heard of Melbourne? That is the capital of Victoria. It is a state close to NSW so maybe thats why they are reassuring the people there that they are safe, but they can't do that because they can't garuantee it! The NSW government couldn't have predicted todays events, you simply can't predict what these people will do or when.

It's another state here. South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania and then The Northern Territory (referred to as a territory, not a state). Victoria borders SA and NSW. There's always been a bit of "rivalry between the states". Victoria seems to cop it more than the others. I lived there for a few years. Thought it was nice, myself.

Sydney is the capital city of the State of New South Wales it is Australias biggest State in terms of Population.
Victoria Is Australias 2nd most populated state and it is located below NSW, the Capital of Vic is Melbourne

I meant more about the feelings towards it. Seemed as if there was perhaps a bit of ill will towards them before this Tweet went out.

So in the US we joke that Florida is the worst State (it is). All the weird stuff happens in Florida. I got the impression perhaps they were a snooty bunch or something. I'm trying to think of a snooty state in the US.

Although we do not know what the hostage taker wants, seems as if he would have taken lives by now from what we have seen in other extremist hostage situations. He must be working alone and in hopes that his actions will set off a Jihad.

The Muslim population there in Sydney has made the statement that for this person, or persons, to use this flag is a blasphemy against Islam. They are quite upset about it.

I was feeling that way earlier too. Now I'm a bit worried he's waiting for a soapbox and afterwards will do something horrendous. If that bandana was translated correctly I'm not liking the word sacrifice.

We can confirm he wanted a hostage to speak to someone live on the air (glad that didn't happen). He also allegedly wanted to make contact with the PM.

I'm still pretty worried. Trying to think positive.

Personally i have nothing against Victoria at all i was just commenting on what was said to the people there in the press conference.

Its my state (Western Australia) that i think cops the most because we are so far away so everyone thinks we must be way behind (they are kind of right) i saw this thing once of a comedian saying we are so far away we might aswell just keep going lol.

C'mon guys....back on topic.....which is not Texas, or Florida.....or snooty parts of other countries.
