There are quite a few apparent "superpowers" in use in the martial arts.

Some grandmasters can alter their center of gravity such that an entire group of people are unable to move them or upset their balance. Some impressive breaking techniques should not be possible based on typical human physiology.

A great deal of what some of the great masters are able to accomplish is done by utilizing chi or ki. The conscious mind is simply not capable of comprehending or executing these great feats.

However, it generally takes a great many years of study, a collection of significant life experiences, and development of a deep wisdom before they can effectively manifest these "powers."

With respect to Qigong, (chi kung, or chi gung) I once knew an American doctor, a pain management specialist, who integrated Qigong into his therapy.

I think they do, as I said I have had some experience with some of them in dreams, perhaps not in this body but in another. There are some out there who have awakened some powers however I personally feel that there is a nerfing force at work making these things more difficult for us to see or behold. There have been plenty of accounts of people with multitudes of powers in various places, however they dont show up and take over the world. One such superhuman is only known as the immortal BABAJI living somewhere off in the himilayan mountains. Just because they arent part of our society doesnt mean there not out there or possible. I think even NASA is working on transfering counsiousness into avatar bodies for space travel. there are a host of things dealing with super powers and technology which I think are relavent to this thread which when any of us find the time can share.

I agree with your post. In my Reiki group there are empaths who have a very keen 3rd eye that are synchronistically intuitive and I do not see our group as very advanced. We just do a little laying of hands on each other and push energy into each other to help each other out. Even at our level we have been able to help each other over distance. That there is others that are more advanced by playing around with the energy for decades (maybe even longer) is not a big stretch for the logical mind when I can go from 0 to what I know now in under 3 years in my spare time while working.

Namaste (I bow to the divine in you)

Namaste I bow to the divine within you with folded hands praying that all obsticales be removed from your path on your journey leading to self realization. I pray that god in the very form of your infinate higher self manifests at all times and in every way.

Yes these psychic super powers are very interesting to me, and I think we are just at the tip of the universal iceberg when it comes to what these powers can really do. What really blows my mind is that they are are in each and every one of us! Thats the big secret!

Biofeedback is an interesting practice that has some relationship to psychic control. Using unrelated physical feedback methods, an individual can learn to control some autonomic functions using unconscious physiological controls.

If I recall correctly, one technique is learning to control some elements of body temperature. That does seem to add some credence to the tale of the monks ability to increase the temperature of their hands to dry their laundry.

One question I have is concerning some experiments that have been done with measuring quantum noise disturbances. Ostensibly this manipulation is performed by way of psychokinesis. The odd thing is that the test subjects seem more capable of successfully altering the quantum noise stream in early experiments. But as the tests progress over time, their abilities seem to decrease. Ultimately their performance reaches a stable level, where it no longer decreases or increases. Why do you think this occurs?

Good question most likely a lack of one pointed focus. Have they tried hypnotism? I know there has been some similar training with mind over matter in that area as to hitting targets, control of body heat and the like. I find biofeedback to be a slowly emerging field, been around forever hasnt seen much comercial use, I was watching a special on some new devices marksmen are using which record the rythm of professional marksmen then when novices use the device they get a buz when they are in the correct state of mind and hit the target every time. Also scientists have put thoughts into mice that never ran a maze downloading how to run the maze into thier mouse brains, interestingly they have also learned to remove the thought from the mouses mind so it forgets how to run the maze.

If we consider that all is one and meditate on that I would guess that all the powers that can be gained would awaken in that unity, to yoke or become one with the infinate divine is the goal of yoga. The powers gained are said to be secondary and not the final goal, however they are interesting and quite useful if you ever need to get something done lol!

The researchers came to a similar conclusion. They reasoned that the test subjects were possibly getting bored.

Have they tried hypnotism? I know there has been some similar training with mind over matter in that area as to hitting targets, control of body heat and the like.

I haven't looked into that yet. I have a friend who is a psychologist that has written a couple of books about using hypnosis in therapy, as well as improving athletic performance, among other things. It might be interesting to combine the use of hypnosis with micro-PK experiments. I may get in touch with him to see what he thinks.

It's definitely been around for a very long time. I remember seeing biofeedback devices in my Edmund Scientific catalog when I was a kid. A long time ago. Of course with the advent of powerful personal computing these days, that brings a whole new dimension to using this old technology for new purposes. I have heard of variations on this old theme now being used in advanced psychotherapy. Of course sessions are expensive and not usually covered by insurance.

Also scientists have put thoughts into mice that never ran a maze downloading how to run the maze into thier mouse brains, interestingly they have also learned to remove the thought from the mouses mind so it forgets how to run the maze.

Flowers for Algernon comes to mind here. That sounds kind of creepy. What happens when the technology becomes advanced enough for human use? You purchase a PhD download and fall behind in the payments. A couple of thugs show up at your residence and repossess your education. Weird thought...

If we consider that all is one and meditate on that I would guess that all the powers that can be gained would awaken in that unity, to yoke or become one with the infinate divine is the goal of yoga.

Some of the PK training that I've researched uses that exact same philosophy. You attempt to become one with the object you are trying to manipulate. But, there are other techniques as well.

The powers gained are said to be secondary and not the final goal, however they are interesting and quite useful if you ever need to get something done lol!

I think that tends to be the case for many types of introspective spiritual development. As one pursues the goal of enlightenment, powers and skills are acquired along the journey. I believe the key is to accept them with humility and deploy them with caution and grace.

Thanks for information.

The yogic siddhi called "anima" was acquired by the well-known Theosophists Annie Besant and Charles Leadbeater in order to describe atoms and subatomic particles. Scientists, including a Fellow of the Royal Society who discovered vitamin B12 and a theoretical physicist, studied their research. The latter concluded (supported by the former) that they had described not only quarks nearly 60 years before these particles were conceived but also their as-yet undiscovered constituents. He has now proved mathematically that they described with this siddhi the subquark state of E8xE8 heterotic superstrings. His research can be found here, where his first book (one of four books he published on the topic) can be downloaded for free. The evidence he accumulated is the most convincing evidence for the objective character of this form of paranormal vision that has ever been provided. In fact, it amounts to the most convincing evidence for ANY kind of ESP because the lack of scientific information about atoms available at the time (1895-1908) made cheating impossible in principle, so that ONLY the exercise of a genuine ability can explain the amazing correlation between the huge body of paranormal observations and facts of nuclear and particle physics.

Wow good information there. I believe in the kingdom of heaven both outside and within, however I think the Anima siddhi/superpower to become atomic in size would be needed to go within to the inner realms. That is just my guess, with this power theres more than enough space to acomplish any task infinate dimentions and worlds within could you imagine the vastness of the inner cosmos! Awesomeness!

When I lived outdoors I would be see streetlights that go on and off. The capacitor (starter) has a thermostat inside that will shut off the light if it gets too hot.

I have noticed this, and I have also noticed other oddities regarding these street lamps.

One in particular, would ONLY go off when a person would go near it. Within 20 feet.

My friend lived there for at least 5 years, and I used to travel on foot to his house numerous times, at varying times of the day.

So, based on your quote, you would explain this away by the cycle of the thermostat, or the environmental conditions.

Yet, like clock work, the light would stay on until getting within the given range. Then turned on again once out of range.

I'm not saying your correct, or incorrect, just sharing experiences, which at least 5 other friends experienced as well.

What exactly was going on with that one particular street lamp? The only indication visible is that whenever a human went near the lamp it went off...

I think our Ancestors knew a lot more than what society today is being led to believe. Egyptians in particular seemed to understand vibrations/frequencies more-so than today's scientists...I recall a quote by Tesla “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

From my experience with Dafa, I can say that many/most of those things do exist. Whether someone believes or not does not really matter or negate their existence and in different periods of history, society was exposed to a greater or lesser degree to some of these things.

There are inherent mechanisms that prevent them from being abused or displayed haphazardly in society. Occasionally people in ordinary society encounter tales or witness this or that small ability, but it is also heavily muddled with those who make hoaxes and whatnot.

Seems like you got clowned…

You didn't know about the thermostat in the bulb did you, before I mentioned it here?

Older street lights have thermostats / thermistors or ballasts (with thermistors) in them that will turn the light off if it becomes to hot. At the end of their life cycle the thermistor wears out and one symptom of this is the light will cycle, turning on and off. You can measure a cycling lights period on a stop watch and yes, it is then possible to walk up to it right when it goes out.

That "one light" was being used to fool you, sorry to say.

Siddhis are supposedly our birth-right, they are part of our natural self but need to be discovered by yourself. I've also read that Yogis breath/blow on their students to transfer powers when they are ready for it. Perhaps both stories are correct? I don't know.

This would be known as one of the four sheaths which house the soul or one of the four bodies.
I am guessing that one of the others not physical would most likely be those to travel to the inner realms. However if one was able to access the matrix of the fleshy form, perhaps DNA, in ones own body there is no reason the physical body couldnt travel into the inner realms as one could expand or contract ones molecules.

The four bodies are:
Physical Or Flesh
Astral or Light Like A Dream
Casual or Cosmic Subtle Ideas Likened To Deep Sleep Or Non Existance
Super Casual or Infinate In Every Manner

I think god is the answer your looking for, and if thats not good enough for you then oh well!

As to this being new age your wrong this knowledge is as ancient as the first sanskrit scriptures.

Also this isnt nonsense this is a conversation on ancient psychic superpowers lets keep it that way.

Thunderbolt, or Vajra, is the weapon associated with Indra, the king of the Devas. There is an interesting story in the Puranas that narrates how Indra got the weapon thunderbolt. The story begins with Namuchi, the demon of darkness, removing light from earth and another demon named Vritra removing moisture from earth and thus making earth dry.

Due to the activities of Namuchi and Vritra, the earth became barren and living beings began to die.

Indra tried to subdue the demons but he failed in all his attempts as the demons had got the boon that they can only be killed by weapon that which is neither solid nor liquid.

Indra then approached Srihari Vishnu for a solution. Vishnu then collected foam from the milky ocean and made from it Vajra – a weapon that send out thunderbolts.

Indra used the weapon to annihilate Namuchi and Vritra. He then destroyed their palaces and brought back light and moisture to earth. Thus saving the living beings on earth.

First you would have to answer; what is an atom? Solid? Waves? Both? No one really knows. Until you know what an atom is we cannot discuss if it is possible to shrink atoms or not.
