A thread about Christian persecution turns into prosecution of someone for their Christian beliefs.

While there are those with ideologies that are incompatible with co-existing in social diversity, it doesn't apply to all who believe in literal biblical interpretations. That seems to frequently get lost in the milieu.

Commenting otherwise, in a context such as this thread, can easily be seen as insinuating that it is deserved across the board. Not only does this confirm what the thread presents, it is counter-productive in creating a fair and equitable environment for a true diversity of individual beliefs that could otherwise co-exist peacefully.

This is the problem, even if it isn't specific to any one group.

You shouldn't connect yourself with someone spiritually unless you truly love them and don't want to let them go. God openly condones and in fact, actively encourages you to 'taste the fruits of the loin' to paraphrase, in a health marital relationship. Sex is a gift. But as I said before Satan tries to pervert anything that God holds dear. You may say that sex is merely for animals to reproduce but we all know human sex is more than that. It is highly spiritual.

I am glad you can see how twisted this thread has become even if you don't agree with me entirely.. I think that the evil behind these acts of atrocity are at work even in this very thread. I have never seen a thread get response like this during my time at ATS.

First of all your sources are all suspect, and many cases have been know to just make stuff up. Second, the things that are happening to Christians are happening to people of all religions. The thing about all religions is that they want to believe they have the one and only true word, and that anything that negatively affects or rejects their insistence of having the only truth is persecution. Religion loves the thought of persecution. " I must be right. Why would I be persecuted if I wasn't right." I say if you can't stand the heat of the wars of religions, get out of the kitchen.

Oh, and by the way there are people right here in the good old USA who feel they have been pretty well persecuted by Christians.

An eye for an eye is very human, at least within our current cultural story. It tends to lead to more problems than solutions, but it does tend to provide instant gratification. If you see such actions by others to be in error, it might be wise to act differently rather than mirror what is being judged.

Religious fundamentalists can't be changed. They have broken minds. So if there is no solution to his problem why not speak the truth. It's not like there was a real conversation to be had here.

Yes Christians are getting persecuted but they are way way way low on the list right now. I think it's awful like i think all violence is awful. Christians are at the top of the pile of religions at the moment and persecute others far more than they are persecuted. Just look at this OP. He thinks we are mollycoddling gay people by treating them humanely. Even worse he thinks we are mollycoddling Muslims despite the fact that we've killed millions of them. I've noticed that fundamentalist men convert and become anti sex outside of marriage at the same time they reach the age when their hormone levels drop to that of 10-year-old boys.
