Wrong. Walking away from a problem never fixes it. Ever.

It just leaves it to fester and get uglier.

It puts off having to deal with whatever needs to be done, and usually it makes it worse because it encourages the people causing the problem to believe they have power, and get bolder.

We're all bolder online I think, but you are correct. I see it the worst in the gaming world. I play MMOs and regardless of the genre there they are in general chat, racist, misogynists... like reading off Storm Front. It's awful.

As far as personal stories, one particular MMO that I played, I was a really good pvper, often in leadership roles... this requires voice programs like TS or vent, some could handle the fact that I was female but several others couldn't. Death threats, rape threats... endless requests for 'cybz'... lies about cybz (thank-god for "screenie or didn't happen"). It died down after a while, but still at the time and even thinking back now it's shocking, the things that were said.

I don't advocate for censoring it, I'd rather know a psychopath/sociopath immediately but definitely more people need to pipe up and tell these assholes it's not okay to vomit all over chat like that when people are just trying to engage in entertainment.

Besides dangerous is a highly disproportionate maxim. It can mean anything and everything, so really I dont know what you mean.

I thought about it some, and I have noticed one thing. Women do get picked on harder in some places. Things that are centered around what used to be predominantly hetero male hangouts and hobbies.

I think girls that get ragged on in places centered around gamers and comics for examples, are receiving the blowback caused by "social justice warriors"(SJW). The males that enjoy these hobbies, that used to cater to their base needs, feel like their hangouts are being invaded and ruined.

I have never been a huge comic fan, I casually read comics once in a while while at my buddy's, he was a huge comic guy. Comics were obviously made by males, for males. The males in comics were tough as nails, kick ass and take names, smooth with the ladies, the kind of male everyone secretly wanted to be. WEll in their superhero form that is, in their cover form, they were just plain ordinary, sometimes timid, like the guys reading them. The females were hot, their uniforms were provocative. Then females entered the picture, claiming to like comics, but demanding they be changed to suit what females wanted to see and read about. Then, hey, where are all the gay super heroes? That upset the males that grew up liking comics just the way they were.

I have never been a gamer really, but I do enjoy playing games once in a while. I was an FFXI addict, but that is really the only game I have gotten into hardcore like that. Online games like FPS, was another refuge for the hetero male, to go be macho hetero males and do some male bonding. A big part of male bonding seems to be trash talking and ribbing each other. Now gamers feel like their hobby is being ruined. Girls are playing more now, and get offended by the trash talking. Now SJW are trying to make all the games change. Why is there no plain looking females, fat females, gay people and on and on.

Females are allowed to have their own places, their own hobbies. If males started invading them, and demand more swearing, more fighting, more explosions, more sexy women, I am sure they would not be too happy about it either. Just something that ran through my head today.

Listen you. There is no such thing as equality in the very sense of the word, most especially among females, in fact most do not understand or are able to grasp the meaning of the word. And feminism now a days is about female objectives it is not about equality, in fact I do not even thing such a thing would be a good thing.

Can you imagine what it would be like if every guy on the planet treated females equally? In a very real sense they would get treated like guys, because that is what the whole equality in its very meaning would entail. I am not talking about holding doors or any of that nonsense, I am talking about everything most of which you would not even be able to understand. But in essence think of all the things guys do and have to go through and imagine you doing them, that would give you a better grasp of what equality means.

In all your confused on the roles of society, men have not ruled for centuries men have just taken the front and center role for centuries, mostly because it attracts females, and generally were the power goes the females follow, because they like that stuff and it gets a great majority of them off. Do you see how that works? Its a dichotomy between the ebb and flow of the male and female psyches, now imagine that being in effect ever since cavemen times, and you may get a picture of how our societies have been formed, and even why some do what they do.

In fact in that effect you probably would not want equality, because if things were equal then most guys would be asking you exactly what the hell do you do? I mean what else is you skill besides getting everything wrong about our social upheavals and the context of our constructed societies.

Like I said, I do not think females would want equality, and those that got any sort of taste of it, are likely confused and very very pissed off right about now, at everything, and life in general, and likely most especially men I would think they would not like it at all. What you people want is some sort of balance were each other if not compliments the other, then at the very least does not uproot and dishevel the other. It would lead to a lot less drama me thinks. Plus there would be a lot less of these threads.

Oh ya I remember those games, I would not say its prevalent but it happens. I even remember playing Halo and seeing all the comments to females going on sometimes non stop. I do not think its a female thing only though, but its definitely prone to females only, in fact it happened to me more then once, though I usually just put people on mute or talk back so it does not happen often, once I even told a guy I was going to find his IP address find his place and smash some heads, I was bull#ing of course there is now way I am making a trip that long just to beat somebody up, but he didn't know that.

He shut up real fast, he even said he was sorry, was some kid teenager to. And we just continued playing the game. You got to have a thick skin if you play online games though, that or the mute button, I found it very useful. In fact I muted people sometimes because there voice was annoying or just for the heck of it, sometimes I would just mute them because they were from the opposite team or I didn't like there emblem or just so I dont have to hear people talking.

In all I am not going to lie females would get a lot more grief in that department especially online and especially in those types of games, but it does not happen as often as that. And there is also the opposite of that. I am sure you ran into those rooms were you got one or a few females in there and every dam guy in the room is hitting on them or trying to be all white knight with them and everything in between. In fact I have ran into just as much as that as the other, some do get off from all the attention and special treatment they would sometimes get if they found out there is a female on the game. Some times so much so that it was just ridiculous, in fact I think a lot of them played those games simply because it gave them a venue to get a lot of guys to hit on them or massage there ego.

And then there is this stuff, I am pretty sure you seen it before, potty words and all, but I do believe its staged between the two of them, like everything else there are just as many trolls online videogames as real people, but if you can get past the potty words and the topic, its a pretty freaking hilarious video. And I have seen some of it happen in real life random games I played as well, not this hilarious but just as rude and pretty far out there stuff. Its why most females dont play those types of games or if they do they generaly stay silent so people think there guys. But ya these guys are just trollz.

I LOVE love love love love love gamer girls.
They bring a whole new approach, viewpoint, and dynamic I find absolutely awesome.
I have no problem scooting over and letting them have a seat at the table.
Scooting over within reason mind you.
In my opinion the table is made better for it.

But it is unrealistic to the extreme for anyone to expect everything to change just to accomidate them just because they decided to do it too.
Is Alaska supposed to stop being cold in winter simply because someone not used to cold moves there?
