I'd like to share a true story for you all. The year my father passed away, I thought to myself, how could we possibly enjoy Christmas this year? Instead of packages and festively wrapped gifts, there would be flowers at his grave. My Mother, then in her eighties was so distraught, so devastated and in so much emotional pain. We were already devastated that Dad was gone, but to see Mom in such emotional agony was gut wrenching. But you know what?

Each and every one of us knew that Dad loved Christmas and loved us all deeply. We knew he wouldn't want such grief and sorrow for us. The day finally came and it was calm and peaceful and even happy in spite of our loss. Sort of bitter sweet I guess. He was not forgotten on that day and we knew that he knew that. He was as much in our hearts on that first Christmas without him as he ever was. Christmas lives on and the special love and magic that it brings with it.

No, it lives in my reality. May I ask why you are so against Christmas? Have you ever enjoyed Christmas? Did something happen to turn you against it or have you always felt this way?

Home Christmas tree fires caused an average of six deaths, 22 injuries, and $18.3 million in direct property damage per year.

Hilarious. Imagine others waking up to that...

So what happened to make you so against Christmas? You can send a U2U if you'd like.

I've been unplugged.

Easter bunnies that lay eggs, reindeers that fly etc, I laugh just thinking about it.
And the crazy part is that this is the mainstream reality.
I'm sorry but I don't need a psychologist, waking up its looking real ugly out here.

You've been 'unplugged' OR .... you are being grumpy about it because you aren't a Christian and you just don't like the fun part of Christian holidays. Easter bunnies that lay colored eggs and flying reindeer are CHILDRENS STORIES and aren't 'mainstream reality'. You do realize that people don't actually believe the fun stories, right? It's just fun for kids and families, and once the kids are like 6 or 7 they understand it's all just make believe fun.

Live and let live. Learn to be tolerant.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Mainstream reality means I can turn on the tv and see it on channels, or I can go outside and view it being practiced.
Don't you realize this is a practice, this is some serious stuff, it's just not some kids holidays it never was that., well maybe now to further deceive the children and get it accepted.
It must be removed immediately.

And I must say that this world is based off of deception, there is a possibility of being deceived at every angle.
That is not a good thing.

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake

With little tin horns and little toy drums
Rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Goodness sake

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming to town

(Coming to town)
Santa's a busy man he has no time to play
He's got millions of stockings to fill on Christmas day
(Santa Claus is coming to town)
(Coming to town)
(Santa Claus is coming to town)
(Coming to town)

I'm thinking by your posts on this thread that you are a militant atheist. I could be wrong though. But why do you wish for others to be unhappy? I don't participate in the Christmas celebration and actually think everyday should be a day of Thanksgiving, but I don't want to deny others to their holiday either.

I actually like this time of year as it really does separate the humans from the asshats and the humans outnumber the asshats by quite a lot. I just wish it was year round.

And you say that you are unplugged, which I highly doubt. I did unplug and have noticed that I don't get bombarded by all the commercialism that does go on these days as much as I used to.

Relax, take a deep breath and have a drink or smoke...or both.

From one who doesn't participate to another...

Happy Holidays!

Trust me, I'm unplugged alright, but to be completely unplugged everything has to be unplugged, you know like the one program on a computer when you close it out, the whole system become disputed and you would have to restart the whole computer, it's like that.

So, correct me if I'm wrong. You want every one "unplugged" and as unhappy as you? Do I have that right? The whole "Misery loves company", sort of thing?

You can't stop things from bothering you if you're not willing to make a effort at it. Let people have their fun, and if you don't like it, then ignore it.

If you can't do that, then you have more problems than just the holidays.
