i was not aware my words were previously spoken. again they may not realize they mock the word and lay the claim of lies but it is what is being done either through ignorrance of the word or in some cases spite and contempt of what the future holds for us without faith.

when presented with the choice to believe the word or lay the claim of failure of god to reach us with the truth many jump on the side of god not having the ability to reach us even though they want to believe they still lack faith.

it is funny you thought about paul cause when i wrote it i was thinkin 50cent. 99 problems but faith aint one

On the other side of the fence, scientists still haven't figured out why we have evolved to be religious.

We didn't evolve to be religious, we are programmed to be religious by the people who came before us. If we evolved into religion then everyone would be religious, but we're not.

Hate to say it brother, but Faith will not change a damn thing in this world...

Only action will... Like I said... Jesus did not teach "faith alone"... Paul did

And such things will never solve anything in this world...

Then again, as another member has said, there are few Christians who actually want peace...

Science seems to have their own issues with their own contradictions .No need to try and harmonize the two .If you thought that could be so then you haven't thought about the subject very seriously . Too many divisions of the differing sects even if you picked one like Christianity . The differing schools of science have their own internal divisions so you would have to unify them as well . Which tells me that if science was a absolute then there wouldnt be the differing opinions in it . See what I mean . a reply to: 3NL1GHT3N3D1

The "implication" is it? What implication is made by what text, specifically?
Or, like I said, you don't have any textual basis for Satan having a son called Apollyon?
Abaddon/Apollyon (Hebrew/Greek) (the underworld/the destroyer -->destruction) is mentioned in The Revelation.
Abaddon is mentioned in the OT in Job and Psalms.
Do you have a textual reference for Abaddon/Apollyon of Rev 9 mentioned in concert with the Beast of Rev 13?
Or is this just a pet theory of yours? If so, bully, but perhaps you could just say that.

Look at Revelation 13:1-4, Revelation 17:8-13 and Revelation 9:1-11 (with emphasis on Rev 9:11) side by side. You will see the same symbol of the 7 headed dragon with the healed wound to describe both the man in Rev 13 and the beast that ascends from the abyss in Rev 17. Rev 9:11 confirms that the creature from the abyss is an angel. If you consolidate the characters you have the picture of an Angel-man. If the Anti-christ is trying to replace Christ (God-man) then it would make sense that the son of Satan would be the Angel-man. And of course, we know that Satan's wants to be God, so in Satan's eyes, Apollyon is a god-man.

This goes back to Gen 3:15. If the Christ is the Son of God, then the Anti-christ is the son of the Serpent.

The word Apollyon is more than likely a title than a name...an attribute if you will.

Understand that we are examining ancient poetry, not a census transcript. We have to look at the symbols and piece together the implications.

Now, I have shown you textual support for my beliefs, I expect nothing less from someone who is claiming that my way of life is based on collection of plagiarisms. I will except literary devices and poetic implications since that is what I have shown, but I do expect citation and dating for any existing textual support.

Science will never be an absolute, it's always evolving and changing with new information. The same cannot be said for the bible, it has remained the same for 2,000 years now.

"Only fools deal in absolutes".

Science is not perfect. It never claims to be, but then neither is faith. I'm a person of faith (but not an Abrahamic one) and my faith and my science never have issues with each other. But there are some extremists in any faith who feel threatened by what they perceive as a challenge. History is dotted with that ( the inquisition anyone?). Every faith has them. In mine, there are a bunch of anti-scientific hippies who are threatened by "GMO", "Chemicals' and "the man telling them that their rituals don't do squat man".

i want gods will to be done and that includes peace. to imply that not many want peace is a hollow sentence. hard to know exactly what people want but if we stick to our own judgments then thhat is unfair too many. however i see where your sentiments come from. You just need to accept more books to get my pov. i all works together. i have bent enough ears and will leave you all in piece now with the hope of finding that which you lost.

The same could be said about the bible.

The same could be said? Its all you ever say. The Bible has a significant amount of historical corroboration, google it. All you ever do is critisize Christian. If I didnt know any better Id say you are afraid of us. Or maybe your a closet-christian?

So far god's plan has included perpetual war, we've been at war for thousands of years now, so how can you say "god" wants peace when his plan has included these things? He even tells us to REJECT peace for the sake of Jesus' return.

Uh ... the bible also contradicts a lot of history (google also shows this). Its a book that should never be used as a historical text. However for those of Christian faith, its THE book.

Science has these things they refer to as constants ,which seem to have been different in the past at different times .If it is true that constants vary then why use the term ? Don't you think that they are being a bit misleading ? a reply to: Noinden

Ok as a non Christian here, you can't blame one Deity for the foibles of man kind. We as a species just suck. Its that simple. War is mans fault. Mind you there are deities who are dedicated to war too

The Assassins Creed series has lots of historical corroboration as well. Does that mean the characters in its story line existed? Of course not.

The winner is the one who writes history. Who have the winners been so far? Those in power. Who killed Jesus? Those in power. Who legalized the bible and enforced it? Those in power. And again, who writes history? Those in power.

God can prevent a book from being corrupted but not his most cherished creation? Come on...

I'm blaming men for the foibles, the same men who wrote that war is necessary for salvation and that a peace treaty is evil.

My problem is not with God, it is with those who put the bible together.

Not God but those who are in power.

Not God, men who are susceptible to lying for their own benefit.

What happened to Rome after they legalized the bible? They became the richest empire in history, the Byzantine empire.

So is that what you want? To illegalize the bible? Suppress people like me...People who serve people like you. What then? Go back to hunting us down? Throw us in the pits with lions? That's what Rome did before they legalized the bible.
