this proves nothing, in fact all it does do it make a mockery of an issues that women (including my wife) deals with on a regular basis. it is a real issue. do you think because you posted this that its not? or that everything is ok now because you have a video of a girl and nobody talks to her.
So if i can walk around a city and not hear racist stuff yelled at me does that racism doesn't exist either?

Same thing I had in mind. Stories out of Mumbai are far worse than a wannabe actress being hit on in New York.

i saw bits of that video...i learned that suggesting a woman "smile" or greeting her to "have a nice day" is sexual harassment if not specifically requested.
ground-breaking experiment.

The fact is the woman strolling NYC did NOT get harassed 100 times. Saying "hello" isn't harassment. In fact the way she ignored a number of people in the video after they said hello was a bit rude. Harassment is not when someone says "hello" to you!

the original survey was flawed in many ways from the fact that nobody really walks 10 hours in one day, to the fact that the video showed a disproportionate amount of minorities, that led me to believe that they had the woman walk in "bad" areas of the city, where you are more likely to find people with a lower level of education, and hence, more rude.
kinda strange how you don't see a white guy at least in the video that was released to the general public.
As for india, i work with lots of people form there, and they all tell me that dating is not how it happens in other places, more often than not, dates are set up among friends, or co workers, it's a cultural thing that you don't stop someone you like in the middle of the street and talk to them.
So implying that "not all men are alike" because indian culture is very different form ours, is a bit like cheating

Are you trying to be obtuse? Talking to someone you don't know who is minding their own business is rude. It's another thing to say 'have a nice day' or 'hello' to a customer if you're the clerk in a store, or to a coworker...
How about saying 'god bless you' and then using it as an excuse to follow alongside her for five whole minutes? Boy, I bet he was REAL religious...
I'll never understand the comments men have made on the NYC video, that the women 'should get over themselves'
Like we should 'get over' our wanting to be left alone in our own thoughts, or free from worry about what exactly our stalker has in mind, or even just from being yelled at by strangers, especially when those yells are sexual in nature?
I wonder how this would pan out in a Texas town where there's a lot of people concealed carrying?
As someone who has been accosted by one of these dirtbags, I'm all in favor of wholesale street cleaning. And not the kind that involves a machine and twirling brushes.
