President Nixon was impeached

Funny how urban myths like this claim spread, people just go with the flow and do no research!

Nixon was NOT impeached....

The only thing a President can be impeached for is

treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors

www.law.cornell.edu...

So exactly which one would you want Obama impeached for?

There are a few reasons why the impeachment word has come up, which is interconnected with the whole "transparency" , or lack thereof. Most notably, is Bengazi and IRS. Yes, I am aware that obama has already said that he knew "nothing" about the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS, but that does not mean, for sure, that he was not involved or made aware of what was going on. But ultimately, Obama is responsible for the IRS's actions, because guess what, it is a government entity, and he is the head of the government. And Lois Lerner pleads the 5th Amendment and can not even look into the members of Congress' eyes during testimony and tell them the true story of what she knows. Instead they bust the low level employees of the IRS in Ohio. There is no accountability in our leaders. We know that Obama, himself, knew that under the ACA, in some instances, americans would not be able to keep their same doctor if they wished to do so. So what does obama do? He goes out during his campaigns and knowingly tells the american people a lie in order to win an election. And then he did win. But, in essense, we the taxpayers did not win, we lost. How can we as a nation allow our elected officials to convey false promises, in order to benefit them (the elected official), and not demand accountability?? You see, I believe there is no pressure on this administration because there is/was nobody willing to do so. Let's see , the media sure as hell won't attempt to ask the president or government any tough questions or demand answers, the mainstream media that is. Obama has surrounded himself with his socialist buddies and they are all in on it, although they all may not agree with every stance Obama has made, they dare not open their mouth because if they did, we all know that person would be humiliated from the media, obama himself, the administration, the democratic party. It is just simply how our government is set up at this point in time. Two parties: If you want to be elected or have any type of political future you better pick rep or dem. In doing so, if you disobey or are a distraction to the party in any way, your reputation is screwed in that particular party. I am not saying I agree with the way gov't is set up and what not, I am just trying to educate people on why I believe what i have said is painstakingly accurate to the T.

Was Nixon impeached? No. But the only reason was because he cut and ran before it could happen and everyone knows it. He was being impeached and faced almost certain removal from office. So, he resigned before he the impeachment and saved what little dignity he had left. Its looks better to leave on your own than get thrown out. Had he stayed it is universally accepted impeachment was imminent.

But you just keep ignoring that part of history. Keep shouting "Nixon was never impeached" if you want to. Everyone reading this knows you are playing with half-truths and technicalities.

The only thing a President can be impeached for is:
treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors

You do understand what that means, don't you? It delineates federal, felony, and misdemeanor crimes. That's a pretty broad range. It stems from the ideal that elected officials should be an example of proper respectful law-abiding behavior and held to a higher standard, not exempt from law by perverse authority.

But thanks for proving my point. Obama should be impeached.

Treason:
1.The betrayal of allegiance toward one's own country, especially by committing hostile acts against it or aiding its enemies in committing such acts.

Refusing to address illegal immigration, and threatening financial sanctions on states who do, knowing that terrorists are using the southern border to enter this nation illegally for the purpose of committing acts of violent terror against the people of the United States fits that definition nicely.

Exactly like previous Presidents did, but let us ignore them!

So, basically, negotiating with the enemy, releasing 5 Taliban/Al-Qaeda (one was an ISIS officer) for a traitor/collaborator while bypassing Congress?

Typical liberal bull#. Get proven wrong and immediately blame someone else for doing the same thing. What do these other presidents have to do with this conversation? Cut and run liberal...cut and run

And no, not exactly like other presidents did. Other presidents didn't threaten sanctions on US states for enforcing immigration laws they refused to enforce themselves. Other presidents did not face the threat of ISIS on their own soil. So no, its not exactly the same thing...

And once again proving my point...cutting my quote off mid-sentence because the whole quote undermines your lame point. You couldn't have given a better example of playing with half-truths if you tried...lmao

To be fair, don't you think they should? If the journalists served the people and weren't shilling for the government they would have jumped on an opportunity like this.. One of the architects behind one of the biggest bills in a long time essentially calls the American populace stupid sheep and almost no one reports it? That's BS and you know it.

I just read a few of the previous posts and no, Obama hasn't done anything resembling treason. He isn't impeachable at this point.

Just because you disagree with a policy or position does not mean that you need to impeach someone.

It is valid to discuss previous presidents to put some of this rhetoric in perspective. You can twist any of that rhetoric around...as in Bush did nothing for Immigration, Bush had to fight Al Queda on US soil etc.

Obama is only a bad president if you listen to someone who is a windbag like Rush Limbaugh or that ilk. If you really research things you'll see that most of that is just hot air propaganda.

Let's deny ignorance, shall we?

# the rules. If they don't apply to the moderators then they should not apply to anyone.

Should not the moderators be setting an example instead of having special rights and privileges?

I don't agree with that at all. The birth certificate thing had nothing to do with him being black. When it comes to politics in general anything is fair game.

So sick of people playing the race card for everything.
