So you don't like gay people JUST because your religion told you not to?

Also not surprised you didn't address the 2nd half of my post.

Of course you can, white hetero males are not part of a protected class.

White is a "race" and male is a gender. Both protected classes.

How about forcing a photographer to attend and document gay wedding? Yeah, it happened.

Religious objections can't be used to override anti-discrimination laws in commercial practices.

Lest the local bagel shop charge different prices for Christians and Jews etc.

Again a business owner can belong to the KKK or the ACLU, be a Bible thumper or Athiest...but they can not choose their customers based on the same beliefs.

The only people I really refuse to work for out of principals is open racists.

You're safe. Racists are not a protected class.

Yep. If you have a problem with that you can "kiss my grits."

Also not surprised you didn't address the 2nd half of my post.

I already addressed this issue in previous posts. Also not surprised you didn't bother reading them.

They turn around and MAKE it everyone's business.

I hesitate to ask, but how are they doing that?

No problem with it. Just like to 'try' to understand why people like you are so absolute in your willingness to follow doctrine that promotes hate. Didn't Jesus say a few things about tolerance and forgiveness?

Also lol you didn't address my point. Unless you believe that if you were a the only doctor in town and a gay person needed lifesaving surgery he should just 'go elsewhere' and 'quit whining'

Doesn't your religion tell you that ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God? Why pick out gay people as the only sinners? If a baker wants to refuse people based on the fact that they sin, wouldn't they refuse EVERYONE? What's so special about "gay sin"? Why not refuse liars, fornicators and the rest?

I have to disagree with you on that one. I worked for the US Federal Government for over 30 years and can tell you that a white male is definitely NOT a protected class. On three separate occasions I was passed over for a promotion so that a female or minority candidate could have the position. I even had documentation to PROVE I was the better qualified candidate and took it to the HR folks. I wanted to file a complaint but was told to my face these exact words, "don't bother because white guys never win." Call me a bigot all you want but my personal experience shows otherwise.

Um. That gave me pause. Good question on 2 fronts. 1- WHO says homosexuality is a sin? 2- What about all the other "sins" that gays are up to? You know? The ones we all do. Shoplifting. Speeding. Etc. Now those puppies are crimes, thus sins.
What's this "gay sin"?

About 99% of religious people.

I can only assume that gay sin is seen as the really eewwweee and creepy sin. Yeah, lying and divorce are sins, but they're dry. I'm just brainstorming, here.

I think you're HUGELY off there. There's a vocal MINORITY.

Actually Jesus said to Love the sinner but hate the sin. Hating the sin does not require that you hate the sinner.

I really did answer the question but I will try again. My issue is with being forced to participate in activities - such as providing services for a gay marriage - that I believe are wrong. Providing medical assistance is an entirely different matter.

That think it's a SIN? They may be OK with gay people getting married and having equal rights, but they think homosexuality is a sin and God will handle it. Yes, a vocal minority is fighting the legalization of gay marriage, but most religious people still see being gay as a sin against God.

How's that? Providing medical services is participating, touching, etc. It's participating and supporting the person.

You took an oath...
You have a gay patient...
They need a prostate examination...

What do you do?

Go...!

My experience at the time told me it was a lost cause. Much like trying to preserve traditional marriage appears to be a lost cause. Not because the cause is not righteous but because the world is not.
