I don't think I'm stepping too far out on the limb of credibility with this prediction. By October 10th, anyone who has been in any contact with a confirmed contagious ebola patient will be quarantined for a minimum of three weeks. Right now it appears that there is a second possible ebola patient , a family member of the first Johndoe patient , being monitored..... along with others being monitored because of possible contact with Johndoe 1. This will spiral rapidly into some mandatory quarantine situations, wherever ebola is detected.

October 10th is too soon for a reaction of that magnitude.

Ebola has, on average, a 2-21 day incubation period. The people that the infected man came into contact with will have to incubate for that period of time before they have any symptoms.

I think if it begins to spread, you will see safe zones as opposed to infected zones - depending on its magnitude. Or a combination of both.

Well Since that's what they already do how is this a prediction? It's like predicting the sun will rise tomorrow . We already quarantine these poor souls. reply to: conspiracytheoristIAM

Hopefully you're going to be right , unless patients start showing symptoms in the 3-5 day range of incubation.

The average incubation is two to four days. In rare cases it's up to twenty one days. a reply to: MentorsRiddle

The first thing they out to do is close the borders of Texas, after all the first infected person is in that state right now

yes been sarcastic, is easy to be sarcastic this days with our nations state of affairs.

You should rethink your assertion....right now they are monitoring possible ebola patients , not putting them in quarantine

a 2-21 day incubation period

obviously if he came into contact with those people after he was presenting signs then given the shortest of the incubation period days, it is definitely NOT too soon to be quarantining people, considering he first went into the doctor on the 24th or 25th.

If they would have quarantined him sooner we wouldnt have as many variables and unknowns in this case as we have now

In reference to quarantine you dont look at the longest of the days for the incubation period , you look at the shortest.

Hmmm....thinking outside the box here. But a quarantine would also present a great opportunity for jobs. Security, Decontamination, Logistics, etc, etc.

FEMA can't do it all and will contract out the labor.

Of course, that is a risk/gamble each individual must assess. Is it worth it?

No, they are doing reverse quarantine to he first responders. For 21 days.

I'm signing on with the CDC right now. they offered me a six figure salary to lead an armed response team that will be the norm in every city and town in America in the next few months. The Fema camps will come into play, this is just the beginning...

All of the above is pretend, but think, just how far will this go? I'm actually kind of excited at the possibility that Ebola wipes out Texas! If nothing else it makes for nice doom porn, oh why whywhy.

Just kidding I #en love you Texas. (not really)

That's OK...A lot of people feel the same way about California.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

There are 370 million Americans ... 400 million people in the country if you count illegals. There is ONE person with Ebola. If they are able to keep on top of this one case, then there will be no quarantine. If the ebola escapes the net, then the quarantine would start with Dallas I'd imagine. But I don't think we are even close to that yet.

(however, I did go over my prep supplies today and I rotated and restocked a few things)

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Yep...going grocery shopping today. Switching a lot of my food list from fresh to canned. Bummer.

On the plus side, I probably lose weight faster since I'm not a fan of it so won't eat as much. Probably save money too. LOL

There will be no quarantined.
Martial law will get implemented way before then. Politicians, military members, law enforcement officials and DoD personnel will resume duty as normal but will wear hazmat suits. We will get tested and we will keep ourselves away from the general public. You will probably be shot on contact if martial law is not obeyed and once things get more established...then the stations will come and you will probably be given fake meds to kill you off.

My advice...go to work. Do not touch anything but your crap...wear gloves and a face mask in public and limit yourselves to outside contact. Suggest to your boss that everyone touches their own stuff and if you have been sneezing, to wear a mask.

For every one person infected. There is probably at least 10 more. This is going to spread like a wild fire.

Shame on you.

There is nothing to kid about when it comes to Ebola (assuming you were really kidding) (which I rather doubt)

Might as well start an HIV quarantine also. That's just about as silly. Similar methods of transmission, obviously Ebola a bit easier to contract but still.

A billion times easier to get a bad strain of the flu, which could be debilitating under the right circumstances, but the same people freaking out over Ebola wouldn't take a flu shot ever....

The feds are probably working on a solution to secure the US' southern border so the Ebola doesn't cross into Mexico.

Ridiculous. Educate yourself on how it spreads and how you contract it. This is either plain ignorance of the Ebola virus or just flat out fear mongering. Do you still worry about contracting HIV every day?

You want to avoid contracting Ebola? Don't ingest the bodily fluids of an infected person or get their bodily fluids in open wounds. Finally, don't handle dead bodies who died of Ebola without the proper safety wear.
