Make a faraday cage. If you can't do that, make a faraday pouch and put your cell phone in it. Unless you have a pacemaker, yeah, you should definitely protect that first. ;p

( Sneaks off to local hospital... steals lead jacket from the X-ray unit )

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Spaceweather.com is slow because of the traffic, but if you can get through you'll see that there is a moderate happening and not anything even remotely worthy of a 'bug out'. (not that you could 'bug out' from a solar flare hit anyways .. no place to go).

I'm looking forward to Friday and Saturday night. I have hope that I will finally see the Northern Lights. They are on my bucket list.

We will either take a drive out from under the Philly lights out to Lancaster to sky watch for a while (it's dark out there in all the Amish farms) ... or we may even take a weekend drive and go further up north to New England for the weekend and maybe we'll have a better chance there.

As for 'OMG BUG OUT' ... not even close. Don't worry about it.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

What ?

I just went in for a hot cocoa after preaching for a few hours on the corner of my street about the end is near and now you`re telling me I wasted my time ?

Bummer !

Let's see. Allegheny General sucks. Stealing from them wouldn't seem as morally wrong. The School of Dental Medicine is chaotic enough you could probably get away with it there. Presby has a really awesome cafeteria, but St. Claire has less security, so it might be easier. Good luck. ;p If you get caught and you need bail, just let me know. I'm just outside of Latrobe, so it'd take me a minute to get there.

Naaa! I'll just go up to Ohio Valley Hospital. Half mile from my house.
The nursing school still owes me some of my tuition back.( over paid )
It will be a fair trade.
But if I do get arrested....please clear my browser history.

Yes as if loosing power may be bad enough.
In April I crashed my motorcycle.. from Kennedy Twp they had go across the McKees rock bridge. Down Ohio River Blvd.
And into the city to Mercy hospital.
I was a level 2 trauma..

In all of recorded history do we know of any deaths directly related to solar flares? I don't think I've heard of even one, so I'm not worried at all.

In the 1859 Carrington event, a railwayman was pissed at larks having a warble in the middle of the night and shot three of them??? that's kind of directly related, but not directly caused by that flare...Hmmm, Mr nice guy with a gun Eh!

Don't think the thread is really about the solar flare anymore, and now a confirmed CME.

Lol..
I got all the resources I need to survive.
Even when it was good.
I avoided it that area like the plague!

If all goes well... you should have a good light show.
You're not overwhelmed by the city lights.
