Then what gives your flesh and bones any more value in this world than the one you aborted? Why do you have a right to live your life, but he/she didn't?

The soul energy of that "individual" is eternal.

Perhaps I gave a gift to a couple who had trouble conceiving.

My choice was the need of the 2 living children I already had.

If we were in control of our government like we're supposed to be rather than the bankers, then that would be a good thing.

I always laugh at such assertions.

Ever been in a group where the leader leaves?

Do you want the bankers telling you what you can and can't do with your life, your income, your family?

I don't want anyone telling me what I can and can't do with my own body. Same same.

Sorry I can't help you with that one because I don't think I would fit your definition of a conservative. I want to remove currency altogether, along with 95% of your excuses for killing your babies.

Ah, so it's OK so long as they fit your personal 5% of the reasons?

I'd be all for castrating her father though.

And murdering all those potential babies in his testicles???

The same penalty she'd get if she were to sneak in her father's room that night and slit his throat, juvenile detention until she's 18, just like every other juvenile killer.

Well, at least I know that you have NO compassion or understanding for a woman who gets pregnant. It's good to know where you're coming from and how very extremist your position is... I'm glad you're not in government.

That's funny considering you tried to back me into a corner with the most extreme circumstance you could come up with. Do you think she should be allowed to slip into her father's room later that night and slit his throat?

Its also funny that you failed at making me look like a hypocrite with your extreme hypothetical, so you switched to the old sperm vs. fertilized egg debate. You should know that's not gonna work either. The moment of conception is when a human life begins... not before... not after. And that's not an opinion or some religious belief, its basic and very well understood science.

Anyway here's one for you. If my wife is about to stab herself in the stomach in an effort to kill my unborn child, should I be able to knock her out in order to save that child's life?

I answered your question, now do you think you could answer mine.

I was eluding to a socialist kind of system that I've been working on for a couple of years that would eliminate 95% of the reasons women choose abortion. Rape, incest, and medical necessity only account for 5% of all abortions, the rest all boil down to financial burden.

My system doesn't eliminate the other 5%. That doesn't make me a hypocrite.

I can't imagine the stifling and oppressive conditions that led your pregnant wife to threaten such a thing, in order to get through to you that SHE is control of her own body, not you! It reminds me of the time my EX beat the crap out me, at 5 months pregnant, for making and eating home made beef chili and beans. No wife and child of his was allowed to eat beans! EVER!

Yeah I'm sure its much easier for you to assume that I was just a horrible wife beater, because a pregnant woman acting irrational is completely unfathomable in your mind.

I'm not your ex-husband, and shame on you for painting me with that brush.

Abuse doesn't have to be physical, and you've already indicated that you think that "YOU" should be in control of your OWN procreation. Some crazy hormonal bitch getting in the way just isn't gonna jive with that kind of need for control.

Just sayin.

No kidding. My EX was jealous of his own children.

Until he switched his work hours so he'd never be home when the kids were there, he'd plant himself in front of the TV and pout because my attention was on the kids, not him.

When a 4 year old climbs a 6 foot fence to come in the back door so she doesn't have to "experience" the negative vibes from her own father ---- that's abuse.

Would I have another child by him to be treated this way? NO

Lol you should go back and read that question and what it was in response to. I asked a question, I didn't make a statement. I was baiting BH into elaborating on her double standards, but you managed to deflect away from my point by jumping in and answering the question for her.

My wife and I had 3 children together. Through out the first 2 things were simply amazing. She was so loving, so affectionate, and so proud. But when she was pregnant with my son, its like a blood vessel popped in her brain or she became possessed or something. She went from being the sweetest person a man could ever ask for, to straight up Exorcist in the blink of an eye, and she's never recovered.

Its quite sexist of you to assume that because I have a penis that I must be the one who was mentally abusive.

Yeah.. it was a now guy, that was previously a female. They don't have the tech to make a biological man pregnant yet (at least to my knowledge).

I read a lot. I like information. It makes my brain happy.

Artificial wombs are further along then most people realize. And would be even further along without politics.

For anyone who wants to start a thread on artificial wombs: motherboard.vice.com...

Thats good, I've been waiting for science to solve this problem. Roe vs Wade only allows abortion if the fetus isn't viable outside the womb. Once science progresses far enough abortions will be a thing of the past. Those who don't want the child can donate it as soon as they become aware of it. Then both sides will hopefully be happy.

So..whoa..I wasn't even going to jump this train when it was so far down the track BUT I have to say the mum should not do time or fines or any of that. To me the question of the crime is "Would they do it again?". Just like a woman who lashes out and kills her abusive for years husband. She's not a threat to society, she wouldn't do it again. Should she be punished. I think her life up to that point was punishment enough.

The same people who say pro-life are the same who detest programs to feed the mouths that shouldn't have existed. They are against welfare, medicaid, social programs for the poor. So women should be educated in options, but they wouldn't want socialized education either...

It is strange that a "progressive" country such as ours has never had a female president or even vice president...yet other countries even 3rd world countries have had female rulers since the 70's.

I dont think this solves any problem. Lets say we start taking all these unwanted pregnancies and using this artificial womb, who is going to care for all these babies?

I am a progressive as far as science is concerned. It annoys me that science is not further along because certain beliefs have to be appeasesd.

As far as donating a fetus, that would not be me. I'm not into "potluck" chikdren. If I'm not going to raise the "potential" child, I'm certainly not going to send it out in the world with "potluck" parents. Abortion will still be needed. But, hopefully less with better technology --- including male contraceptives. www.malecontraceptives.org...

I'm all about the care and welfare of LIVING children. How about we make adopting children easier and low cost. Babies are not required to be a parent.

Republican judge.

Probably anti-abortion Christian.

Gotta make an example of her.
