I've been to the Colosseum, and I found it very underwhelming. I still can't understand how so many people were supposed to fit in that thing!

I'm usually very sensitive to "vibes" -- and that place felt deader than a door nail. In comparison, the pyramid in Chitzen Itza felt very "electric". There was some serious energy about that place. Rome, however, felt dead.

Pompeii was different. That place had a very eerie, surreal feel to it.

If so, one has to consider how these time shifts seem able to connect these two Earth's in different times? Do not forget the Earth is not in the same position it was a moment ago. So how're these two different Earth's connecting to each other to allow for the ghostly time shift to occur? This might help to hint at how the manifestation is produced. In other words, if true, then it's independent of the absolute position in the universe and somehow relative to the Earth. And there's a chance the land areas on Earth have shifted some too, so a absolute position relative to Earth might not work. The manifestation might be tied to the atoms of that environment, thus being unrestricted. And what of the atoms? I know the atoms in our body are completely new ones every two or so years. What of the atoms in the colloseum? Are they different atoms as well, versus their historical or future coutnerparts? If the atoms are different, how does this manifestation occur? What's it relating itself to? Somehow it can discriminate the place or thing independent of the identifying atoms. Moreso, it's somehow relative to the structure of those atoms - it knows the coliseum is the right one, without having the exact atoms as identifiers.

I think it's itneresting, though. How would this manifestation tie these two locatiosn together, given the difference in time and absolute location?

Ah yes the God Helmet, one of my favourite things. Yes the inventor proved beyond a doubt that you could artificially create 'paranormal' experiences using electromagnetic fields. People reported feeling touched, floating, seeing ghosts, seeing aliens, reported it felt like an alien abduction must feel like.

Electromagnetism really does run the universe, and has a serious effect on the human brain. The natural field of earth must have an even more powerful effect. Some people believe time is all relative and past present and future all happen at the same time (like in the book Slaughterhouse Five) and that we merely perceive it in a straight line!

First off, I am a psychologist/historian rather than a physicist, you would have to ask them how it is possible.

Second, there are not "two earths" there is just one, and time must be irrelevant to a planet without consciousness... what if the earth 'aligned' for lack of a better term with the exact same position relative to say, the sun (which produces radiation), and for whatever reason we witness a glimpse of the location as it was the last moment the earth was in that relative position? Again, not a scientist, just throwing # out there.

Energy cannot be destroyed, so matter from the distant past must exist somewhere in some form in the future, right? And in the case of stone works the exact same matter is still there, centuries on!

Makes me wonder if this Colosseum sits on a ley line, or even a meeting of ley lines. Anything on these lines are said to have a lot of paranormal activity.

Small world I am originally from Tamworth in Staffordshire (I know of Seckington) I have since lived on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors for over 20yrs and there is a similar story about Roman soldiers in the cellar of the Treasury House in York.

A man doing work in the cellar watched as a group of Roman Centurians march through the cellar walls right in front of his eyes ... the strange thing was he said in his account that he could see nothing below the soldiers knees.

Research revealed that before the Treasury House was there, there had indeed existed a Roman road in that area ... even more curious the roads original ground level was lower ... meaning that anyone walking at that level would have looked like nothing existed below the knee because of the existing floor level of the existing cellar being higher.

He said the soldiers knees were at floor level - i.e. like the ground there was lower in the past - I know I did the ghost walk in York about 3 months ago - lol.

I've had what seemed like a time slip before, therefore it very well could be. I'd consider also that it could be heavy residual energy stored from past events of the area contained in it's environment.

I too, hail from Tamworth! Well, spent my childhood there from age 5 to when I left home at 17!
While I lived there, before they built all those retail parks, it felt like a magical place.

Hello ATS, I'm new to the community and wanted to create this as a new thread but need to hit my 20 posts first.

I also experienced a similar incident around 12-14 years ago. My case wasn't to the degree of your experience.

At the time I was working the stockroom/sales in Fairview Mall (Toronto, Ontario).

I opened the backroom door that leads to the mall corridors and was shocked at what I saw. I saw a long hallway with what looked to be flickering florescent lighting on the either side of the walls. Most of these lights were off and the hallway was very dim. I could not see the end of the hallway. The hallway normally turned left then made a right after the door than made a right to a long hallway.

In shock I closed the door and stood there puzzled for about 5-10 seconds not knowing what to think. I then opened the door again expecting to see this different reality but to my disappointment everything was back to normal.

I worked at that store for approx. 2 years opening that door everyday for either receiving shipments or throwing out the trash. This only occurred once.

Since then I have tried looking for historical records for the area to see what was located there before the mall was build in the early 70s but haven't found any records or pictures of the site.

Time slip? Alternate reality?

I can vividly see this hallway even after all this time. Still creeps me out.

Interesting. I have had such experiences. When I was a child of around 8 or so, I was sitting on a curb by my home and putting on my street roller skates. I looked up to see a girl in a hound toothed printed spring coat and white socks and patent leather shoes skipping by...the weird thing is, she was ME. My friends came down the sidewalk to me right as soon as the girl disappeared and asked me how I had changed my clothes so fast because I was in my shorts and t-top. They had seen "ME" go past them too.

When I was in my 40's, I used to go hunting for food as hubby was 100% disabled Vet and had not received pension yet. One time, I was walking along in the woods and looked down and my hunting boots were now Indian Moccassin type boots of some kind. For just a few seconds, I felt like I was someone else and somewhere else.

Lately, these kind of "events" have been accelerating for me. I guess it is a "dimensional thing" or something of that nature. It is starting to creep me out a little. I find things/objects that I discarded a long time ago, appear once again and stay put. At night, I sometime have dreams of flying and landing in strange places and observing people from another time frame/dimension? Anyway, I feel like there are things such as you have described that can occur as I have experienced similar as well. It is interesting but does give one pause for thought. Best wishes to you.

If gravitational pull has an effect. wouldn't it be irrelevant where the earth was at a certain point in space because the gravitational pull would supersede the conventional laws of physics.?

It was totally a flash mob dressed up like Roman soldiers...with their, err, lions. Seriously that is a cool story. A number of timeslip cases are extremely intriguing, and I wish you had been a little older or the event more recent, as this is one of those times I would love all the details that you could think of. Being a student of military history the Roman soldier aspect is what intrigues me the most, although gladiator and animal fights is definitely something that is interesting as well. A little sadistic on the part of the Romans, but I suppose they didn't have internet. And times were relatively brutal, although not necessarily for the average Roman citizen. Exact details of what you saw could actually help to establish a timeframe for this slip, and depending on what details there are, perhaps we could even pinpoint the exact ruler at that time. There are certain details about Roman military apparel in general that changed over time, and there is also the fact that certain types of gladiator/animal fights were only done for certain periods of time, and other details like that.

As PKD said, "The Empire never ended..." and maybe, if these 'time slips' really occur, that guy was right about many things.
