I just lost the flight on Flightradar24.

Is it awful that we are sitting and waiting for this plane to drop? Feels cruel. What a tragedy.

It did a U-turn on FlightRadar and then stopped and now I can't access it. Did they shoot it down?

Helpless indeed. But at least with tracking, we know roughly where it is to see what the outcome is.

I hope it was somehow a controlled crash, like a crash landing.

I know it's highly unlikely, but I keep holding out hope that the pilot regained consciousness in time to make a crash landing...

Hope everyone on the ground is safe too.

So did it run out of fuel and crash or did they shoot it down?

RIP To the crew

Very sad. Some consolation that they were unconscious I guess.

here's one article that mentions another similar incident:

Just five days ago, NORAD sent two fighter jets to respond to another unresponsive aircraft.
In that incident, a single engine plane took off from Wisconsin and was bound for an airport in Manassas, Va. The U.S. Coast Guard said the fighter jet pilots could see that the plane's pilot, the only person on board, appeared unconscious as the plane flew.

Looks like aircraft malfunctions are becoming increasingly frequent, probably old parts wearing out as jets get older

Slightly off topic here but I think it's amazing that with today's technology and social media we are able to get news on this stuff instantly..
Back on topice. There is a small hope we get survivors, fingers crossed with held breath..
