Geez, what comes across is its the little people on the ground which suffer, when you no longer have choice you no longer have freedom, No BMW, No Gucci but yeah good luck convincing the people on the ground they can enjoy something more cost effective and homemade lol Now Russia has dipped into recession and food has tripled! People won't faint on the streets like you say if they don't have these things, but it won't make you popular as a Government.

Doesn't make life better for the Russian people, or any of us.

Americans can't enjoy Havana cigars for so long time. By your logic they don't have freedom. Yes, they have less freedom, but let's not exaggerate things like you do.

food has triple

Care to bring some evidences that food has tripled in Russia ?

Experts are now saying Russia will hit its 8% food inflation ceiling by the end of 2015, well above the inflation target of 4.5% set by Russia's Central Bank for next year, Filatova says. The country has seen at least two-consecutive weeks of 0.1% consumer price increases, Filatova says. Meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, nuts and dairy products were banned from the U.S., E.U., Norway, Canada and Australia.

They have less freedom, but if everyone stopped exporting to Russia that would totally suck as a citizen, you can't exaggerate the truth, just is.

Food - as reported in the Sunday Times week before last, probably gone up since then.

It is not "everyone" and it is Russian imposed sanctions (concerning food). I agree it doesn't do well for ordinary citizens not in Russia and not in the West.

Probably Russia is more vulnerable, in place of Putin I wouldn't be playing those sanction wars like Putin does.

Putin unofficially admitting Novorossia

He can call it whatever he wants, but that still doesn't make anything in Ukraine Novorossiya.

But I forgot whatever Putin says is the truth.

Those Chinese and Indian cars will not be the same quality as the German models, but I do see your point and indeed there is potential for those car makers to get a tax incentive to make models for the Russian market

If needed, then Russians can send in their armor and troops to Mariupol outskirts from these towns near Sea of Azov.

And why would Russia do that?

This conflict has nothing to do with them...oh wait they are the reason this conflict is happening in the first place.

In areas of NW of Luhansk, Debaltseve (link town between DPR and LPR), and Mariupol a big concentration of Junta machinery is taking place.

And believe it or not Ukraine can move whatever they want in their country.

Donetsk is still being shelled everyday.

Care to provide a source for this?

Bro, tell that to Russians who went through the 1990s time as to what is more important Gucci or a good meal twice a day.

In 1990s, soldiers used to riot on army bases as at times they were not fed for 2 days or so. So go figure the real situation on ground.

Still in 1990s, Moscow was the Mercedes capital of the world. Corruption and crime was rife and opportunists were making the most of the newly awarded freedoms.

I admire, adore and appreciate the Chinese philosophy of "slow steady strong" mode of bringing changes. If Russia had followed such a path it would not be importing food items today.

Btw, The "Glorious" USA was not made in 2 years like the Russians thought they could become one in. It took 200 years of hard work to make USA what is was in 1960-1980s.

Go figure the real truths on ground.

Human morality is much more important than designer fashions.

Forget about Chinese or Indian cars, what's wrong with Russian cars to begin with.

May be they are little low on MPGs but Russia is rich in oil and gas. May be they break down a little more and these are the things Russians can learn from the Asians. Heck, South Korea is just around the corner at a shouting distance.

Quality? That is a very opened ended and even philosophical point.

However, quality does come with extra price for sure.

Well you have me there I have never driven a Russian car and always stick to German cars because there so well built and 87 thousand miles later on my car have had no problems and looks the same it did when it shipped out of Germany for me

What's the best selling Russian made car out there then?

Yes Victor

When human morality for the larger part of humanity is more important than the desire for the acquisition of 'stuff', we will be able to end world poverty.

Not to far to evolve then lol

I am not in Russia so do not know which is best for which class of the society.

Question is not German or Japanese world beating cars. The question is to drive as per your resources. This becomes 3x more important for the middle class and down...........group which is most prominent in any society.

You can live in $60 motel and also $600 suite while traveling. The difference is more philosophical.

I agree with you mate,it's all about money

It also makes me laugh when I hear people complain about the shoddy work in Chinese products,I remind them that when you pay someone peanuts they will cut corners

You get what you can afford and most people are content and happy to do that

The 3 major car producers in Russia are VW, General motors and Chevy if Russia started playing games with automotive sales these plants would shut down and they are the backbone of Rusiam car production. You have to inderstand Russia just doeesnt have the manufacturing abilities to produce parts for cars computers and in fact most electronics. They do not have an altetnative even their military is dependent on western coutries.

After the collapse industrires moved into Russia to take advantage of cheap labor but most parts are shipped in and assembled there. Russia is about 20 to 30 YRS behind the west. This is one of the reasons Russians talk about how strong they are its compensation for the lack of education. Now im nit saying Russians are stupid their not but the avarage Russian had a very poor education compared to westerners. Even when i visit you can tell when you meet someome who was educated outside Russia. Though i will credit Putin its gotten better but in rural areas still almost non existent.

Situation is not only bad but it is intensely threatening. Who so ever signed the Minsk cease fire accord for NAF was out of the mind. NAF was on the momentum and Ukrops thinned out and beat up. Ukrops would have been smashed out of the Donbass with couple of extra punches.

ic.pics.livejournal.com...

Now Ukorps have widened the front as per the map below, knowing that NAF lacks numerical advantages. They have brought in more numbers in men and machines.

Russians will have to come with serious help for the NAF. Might even have to use aviation and cruise missiles to kill off the Ukrops air defense and then plunder them with MLRS and artillery. Only then NAF can go about with counter attacks.

Yes ive watched Ukraine redeployed brougt up armor and setting up fire bases. I agree this gabe them time also noticed a battle tactic change if i had to guess someone is giving them tactical advice. Because frankly Ukrainian generals havnt been this smart. Notice now they are starting to set ip kill zones meaning Russian losses will be significant. Wonder how many dead Russians will Putin be anle to keep hiden from the Russian public i dont think many Russians want to have their sons die in Ukraine to supposedly help sepratists.

It will be interesting watching Putin try to get out of this mess hes creating.

Russia also sent the "2nd aid convoy" into Ukraine. Last I saw it was suppose to be delivered by train and not trucks. The OSCE observers at the border points noted the vehicle were not inspected.
