Pentagon: Chinese Fighter Jet Flew Dangerously Close To U.S. Aircraft

Admiral John Kirby says the U.S. has made a formal complaint to Beijing over the incident that happened on Monday over the East China Sea. It's believed the Chinese jet came within about 30 feet of the Navy surveillance plane.

Yeah, really. I mean obviously they own all the air and sea there since it had their name on it. How dare anyone else claim international airspace, or any territory there!

One could ask what a surveillance plane was doing there in the first place but yeah the US seems to own the world.

Perhaps they should consider it as a message.

Lastly of course it is why did the Chinese jet come so close, but, you can also ask, why did the US plane come so close to the Chinese jet.

Perhaps if the US plane had been listening to the control tower in the East China sea and followed directions this would not have happened.

All jokes aside, seems like a lot of girlies screaming about their personal space having been violated.

I agree, China owns the entire Pacific, all boats and planes should leave immediately. Or you know, it's actually international water/air and China has no say, just like the US has no say when Russia buzzes our borders.

One could also ask what you are doing on a sidewalk with a camera. One would have to be a complete moron to ask that though, as you have every right to be there with a camera. The US does not own that airspace, nor does China, or do you think using a sidewalk means you think you own it?

So it's ok for China and Russia to do the same thing to the US, but it's not ok for the US to fly in international airspace.

Hell Russia has been known to violate airspace in Europe occasionally, as well as fly mock attack profiles near the airspace of other countries.

But your problem is that the US was flying in international airspace near a potential rival, that has been doing the same thing to US allies, as well as bullying everyone in the neighborhood.

Right now Americans are America's biggest enemy. It's not China or Russia. It's American people that don't blindly agree with everything they do.

That is the only bird I encountered in my time in the Navy that no one outside the crew could get close to. Not the prettiest of planes either.

This happens so often with recon aircraft , that the real question ( for myself ) is - why is it in the news ?

In the fifties there was quite nearly open war with the soviets ... RB- 50 's ( and MIGS ) were shot down regularly , and many men were lost on both sides . No one felt any need to talk about it ... so why talk about this ?

I do find the US complaining is a bit rich considering their continued abuse of actual sovereign airspace across the entire globe. But then, bullies often complain.
