Those guys are just show-offs. The best bass players in the world are (and were) people like James Jamerson and Paul McCartney.

Every video so far has been a 'solo' or 'jam' spot. That's the idea! Show what you got, put it all on the line, push your skills to the limit and melt some faces!

Jaco Pastorious for sure, Stanley Clarke,Larry Graham. So many great bass players out there.

Very true. My favorite players usually are jazz bass players. although Some good old Fugazi/punk bass lines are just amazing. You can tell who plays with emotion vs just slap the bass as fast as you can.
