I still do not agree with you and your whole conspiracy that its a government agenda to go to war. I have seen the aftermath picture with the poor man's head on his back. Not sure if that was shown in the video as I did not watch it, but seems a lot of hassle to create the video of the beheading to be a fake.

And my comment regarding Islam to be treated as a cult, I believed that prior to this incident and the fact that no Muslims in my country are on the streets protesting "Not in My Name" and as such they are complacent in the ISIS actions when in fact they should be showing the World how peaceful and loving their religion is as we are all often told.

As with a lot of media stories, there is always an element on ATS that jumps on "Its a Fake" bandwagon with little or no prove as such.

look at the emotional response this has ignited against Muslims and ISIS. 1 hour of filming in a desert with actors is no hassle at all!

ISIS wouldn't fake it, if they beheaded an American it would be on the internet for the world to see every gory second.

For the record and I've posted this quite a few times over the past several years, I have no issues with Islam but with Religious extremists of all faiths, Cutting a mans head off with a knife is pretty extreme.

I refuse to watch the video (I've seen one beheading some years ago and I still can't get it out of my head) but by the descriptions of those who have and by the government's statement about needing to authenticate it does put it in question. To me anyway.

Either way ISIS is sure a scary and emboldened group of fanatics who are certainly capable of beheadings. I hope these guys try and establish themselves even more with uniforms, bases and such so that we have actual hard targets to attack. But I have a feeling that once they realize they can't stand toe-to-toe with a modern military force they'll just melt back into the population.

nope, your still not swaying my opinion, perhaps and lets just play devils advocate for the moment, ISIS have realised that their video would be removed from Social Media sites including Youtube had they included the whole scene.

Perhaps the only way for you personally to realise that these barbarians are beheading innocent people is if you could have a ringside seat at their next execution?

I have seen worse see Nick Berg beheading and Mexican Cartel chain saw beheading. I question the legitimacy of the video, they cut out the part where they actually cut his head off ? Then we see a photo of the decapitated head sitting on the body. But why ? Not saying i wanted the full gore up close and personal but thats the whole point of shocking your target audience isnt it ?


The way James Wright spoke in the video and how it was produced was almost Hollywood like. Not anything we usually see from these cretens. They actually went High Def not the usual 480p , video production was reminiscent of political advertising ads we see every 4 years. Something stinks about all this.

Very sad, indeed that we have to endure the new Al-Qaida now in Iraq, they are getting bolder and their network income is one of the highest every by a terrorist group.

But hey thank the Muslim president we got that released top major terrorist from Guantanamo so Isis could have a leadership, then allowing their financial network to grow with not restrictions.

I'm getting vibes that it is fake .. someone made a good point about it not being isis possibly and it kind of makes sense .. think about it .. the executioner sounds british(although that may not mean anything) but I have yet to see one of these executioners in these videos(seen a few) have any type of 'western' accent .. they've all been middle eastern sounding through and through .. in fact, I can't recall one where the executioner ever even spoke english to begin with ? .. also, isis has no issues whatsoever with showing a beheading from start to finish so the edit is definitely odd .. and yes, that knife looks fake .. when I first watched the video I remember thinking there was something off about the knife

Oh I see , not safe for work and all well I removed them. Well it does not really matter since the video shows up on the first page in search results. Once on the internet always on the internet.

A man deserves better than to be exploited in this way.

That being said, I cannot help but question the authenticity of this particular video. I just can't.
I have seen beheadings....the first on being Nicholas Berg, years ago. Some people claimed that video was "faked"....it was not. Now, whether it was staged, that is a different question....but "faked", it definitely was not. Every second of that beheading (and many others, and here is my point) was captured for all to see, in one shot. No edit, no cut away....just raw footage.

This isn't that....this is edited.
As he starts cutting...a few times sawing back and forth and then it cuts to a scene showing Foley stomach down, head on his back. (Sorry, trying not to get too descriptive yet trying to lay it out, yet again, for those unwilling or unable to view it themselves for whatever reason)

The standard MO of these "public" beheadings, displayed for all the world to see, is raw....it's unedited...and is meant to display the brutality and grotesque nature of the thing. This is more like a "whitewashed" version of a beheading.

......I generally don't go down this rabbit hole. I'm generally well rounded (imo) when it comes to CT vs reality and the in between. I just can't shake the feeling this is staged, and possible completely faked.
The "cuts" to the throat do it for me.....those initial cuts don't seem to be doing anything at all. The ONLY thing I can see that would legitimize it, is the way his body sort of "goes limp"....but even then, I have a hard time deciphering the reality of him "going limp" vs my preconceived notion that he SHOULD go limp. Not sure it happens.....if that makes sense at all.

The "why" and for what purpose......is something I don't have right now. Like I said, I just don't know but I can't shake the feeling, even after viewing it over a half dozen times this morning.

I also note that it appears to either be dubbed......wouldn't the wind be coming through the audio?
If you view it, also note the only noise Foley starts to make....a sort of "gurgle"....it seems "added"......For those with the stomach for it, view a few beheadings with audio.....note the noise. There is a "consistency" to it and it generally starts immediately. This is well into the "sawing" action....

I'm going to shut up now...I feel so goddamned dirty. Just bringing up this angle makes me feel filthy.
If indeed this is what it is purported to be, I apologize in advance to his family....I hope they NEVER see this conversation.

Either way, this man is dead.....I would assume. May he rest in peace.

Must ETA: I cannot leave this post here without mentioning that either way, staged or not.....for whatever purpose....I want to see IS DEAD! ALL of them.....exterminate this SCUM from our planet.

There is PLENTY of actual video that IS has put out that prove their brutal, sick, psychopathic crimes. They put them on display for the entire world to see.

ISIS is the moral equivalent of Hitler. I do support war against them. Not because of this video, but because of the atrocities they commited and continue to commit. Their ideology is totaly incompatible with basic human rights. Even al-Qaeda hates them, and that says something.

The war should be fought using aerial attacks, drones, special units and supporting the Iraqi army. That way it will be very cost effective while keeping US/NATO casualties to a minimum.
