Johnson looks like he hasn't slept in a week. I doubt tonight is very restful either.

Maybe we do get pouring rain. That would be a positive thing in this situation.

I have been wrong more times than right in my life, but there is a feeling in the air tonight I cannot deny. Someone is gonna spark a tinderbox and I really have a feeling shots will be fired... And not just rubber bullets.

Devil's Advocate time!

Why is there a continued need to march and protest? Isn't the Justice Department there? Haven't the requests of the protestors been met?

Yes there was a shooting.
Yes, it is being investigated.

Why is there a continued need to protest?

Lightening might be a motivator.

Yeah, I am watching the young angry man speak with the state police captain and while the trooper commander's patience is admirable, I wonder how much longer he will continue extend the olive branch.

For the record, Johnson said a short time ago there were 40 FBI agents in the neighborhood. He seemed to say the number as a meaningful fact, not a figurative reference.

40 FBI agents on this one case, already full of law enforcement tells me there is a big herd of elephants in the background here we aren't even seeing or hearing. They'll crash into the open eventually, with whatever they are working so hard on.

Typical FBI. Mums the word and I'll give them this. They can keep a secret when secrecy matters. After all...the FBI isn't there to file charges on Brown's buddy.

Well if it comes to that, once again "The World is Watching".

Because somebody's telling them they can't.

If I had nothing at all to protest over but my governor suddenly said I can't protest past midnight, I'd probably be out protesting. As would you, I would think.

To be honest I can't believe it has gone this long without an angry person shooting out of rage. There is a lot of anger and emotion raging the streets there, so much you can feel it through the screen. Hope I am wrong and those folks have someone around them to talk them down.

I agree...there is nothing left to protest.

What are the goals or demands of this protest? Now it seems like it has turned into OWS...they are now protesting for the right to protest...which is ironic...because they are already protesting.

An Amnesty International rep approached Johnson and asked if observers and media would be allowed to stay past the curfew in order to monitor police and make sure they behaved appropriately. Johnson told her he would have an answer for her before midnight.

Thanks for the answers.

Yes. If someone told me I couldn't do something, I'd make it a goal to actually do it.

So this is now evolving from a tragic event to a simple exercise of rights.

They didn't just say, "Hey, we randomly decided that you can no longer protest past midnight."

They have had plenty of chances...and continue to riot and loot.

The community originally cried that police didn't stop the original riots and looting...so the police showed up in force to stop it.
Then they cried because police showed up with too much force and it was "militarized"...so the police backed off.
Then people start to riot and loot again...now the police are no longer equipped to stop it...so all they can do is try to ensure now one is being hurt during the looting. And of course, the community cries that the police didn't stop it.

So what's left...let's try a curfew to stop the looting and rioting...NOT TO STOP THE PROTESTING.

That's exactly right. They are exercising their right to be stupid. That's their right.

Well this is interesting. Opposing sides among the citizens.

The Panthers (I believe the big guy in black with an entourage is NBPP), going around with a bullhorn saying they'll win tonight.

The "Peace Keepers"..whom I have never heard of, apparently all over and trying to convince people to go home. One on one if needed.

Oddest thing... Between all the professionals out there...where are the normal folk between them?
