I've heard multiple violent reports over the police scanner. I don't know how serious it is, but there is an increased amount of activity over the past hour.

Just a bunch of stupid brainwashed adolescence chumps believing in too much hollywood, just like the zombie believer morons. get rid of the game consoles and this crap will stop in a few years.

How about: remain calm and vigilant if you're in the area?

I'd basically just stay indoors, and go about my regular activities.

According to the "flier" it ends @ 6:30am...if anything, I would remain on at least a minimalistic level of alert...lock your doors & such, maybe 1 notch above the norm at this stage. That said I know squat about this city's crime, so what is being broadcast on the scanner may be the norm with just a twist of "Purge" for flavor.

Then again, this could just be the start...it is quite awhile until 6:30am.

The reports ARE to be believed. We are listening to the live police scanner. It's not a PR stunt. Real people are shooting real guns and people are getting shot by said real bullets.

WOW some guy is attempting to assault his wife with a chain and another guy was making threats against the court house and then downed an entire bottle of tylenol to try and commit suicide.... this is just insane.

Hell my favorite game it Hitman.... You don't see me out collecting money for hits.

Well, they were saying Kansas City was expected for tonight also, so I decided to listen to the scanner - and seriously it's much quieter than any other friday night there... People must have taken the threat seriously and stayed home... at least so far. It's only 10 pm there, so we will see what the night brings but so far quieter than I have ever heard Kansas City...

You should listen to the NYC citywide scanner sometime, it can be much crazier...I haven't heard anything too out of the ordinary for a big city.
