I wonder, how many protesters out tonight are protesting the actions involved in the killing of Michael Brown and how many are out protesting the actions last night of the police force against the peaceful protesting.

I'm sure, if asked, most would say it is about Michael Brown, not enough transparency in the case, etc. Or maybe more just want to be a "part of the action".

In any case, I am glad to see more people out and, seemingly (so far), less 'militarized' police. There is plenty to protest in Ferguson, MO. There is plenty to protest in America. Period. A shame someone has to die in order for people to become angry enough.

People hate on AJ all the time, but yet again he has a crew in the thick of it, getting out streaming video of an important event. Cudos for that much at least.

Yup. I'm definitely not an AJ fan but I'm glad that he's got people down there and is streaming it as well. Hat's off to him and for his crew for that. Though I ended up muting the honking, lol.

MISINFORMATION ALERT!!

Pseudo-news organization Democracy Now! just tweeted this picture

This is from yesterday.

The linked story is dated today, and starts:

The Missouri town of Ferguson looks like a war zone as police fire tear gas, stun grenades and smoke bombs to break up a fifth night of protests over the police shooting of unarmed African-American teenager Michael Brown.

This misinformation attempt is rather serious.

MISINFORMATION ALERT!!

They are doing their paid jobs trying to foment uprisings.

Who funds them lets see.....

program is funded entirely through contributions from listeners, viewers, and foundations

listeners......pennies
viewers......pennies
Foundations.....WHAT????.....millions upon millions

Guess who influences their programming?

when an officer of the law tells you to get on the sidewalk - since when is it okay to tell him:

1. "And we told the officer we was not but a minute away from my destination and we would shortly be off the street."

It's always been okay, that's why we have the 1st amendment. You're allowed to say what you wish to people. That's why some less savory individuals enjoy flipping the bird to police and filming it; it's within their rights as citizens. Granted, if they're breaking the "law" by doing this (jaywalking), the cop has the right to detain them and possibly even arrest them, but it seems fairly clear to me, especially if he told them "Get the f**k on the sidewalk", that this officer wasn't interested in serving or protecting them, but rather intimidating and harassing them.

Secondly, if I was in the middle of road and a cop told me to get on the sidewalk, I would have immediately done so and not given some smart ass answer.

I'm not sure how you construe "We told the officer we was not but a minute away from my destination and we would shortly be off the street." as being smart-ass or disrespectful at all, sounds more like a general statement of purpose.

Anyway, I guess what upset me about your post is that it seems like you're trying to deflect blame away from the officer and somehow rationalize what he did; I'm sure you're not okay with shooting fleeing citizens in the back, but you essentially seem to be saying "Well, this never would have happened if those smart-ass kids behaved themselves!", which, to me, is tantamount to saying "Well, she never would have been raped if she hadn't been dressed so provocatively!".

Here is to hoping the State Patrol will have a cooler head and open a dialogue to stop the madness.

I say that mainly because I am trying to stop an outbreak of paranoia for me... I cant afford to go into another round of prepping right now.

Does anyone else find it hard to believe that Mike Brown just decided, after being told to get off the road, that he would become a cop killer? With that officer's own weapon? They're expecting us to believe that while the cop was sitting in his car, (?with the door closed because he had just pulled up?) Mike Brown tried to reach INTO the car and take the weapon from the officers hip? That's pretty far fetched.

Yes. I think I understand better now.. and that timelines are very important in these situations. It could be misconstrued as to be taking place right now.. and that does make one wonder why.

Sorry about that, and thanks.

Is the coroners report out to see what drugs the kid was on? People were eating each other like zombies the other year from the crazy stuff kids get on the streets.

They can be very safe & effective since the rider is above
the crowd & automobiles they get a better perspective on
the situation. They use Mounties up in Canada & probably other places too.

Not sure if this has been posted, but this is a pretty good rundown of the events that have transpired the last few days.

Momentum builds against police presence in Ferguson

I can only hope there is not more of the same tonight.

You make this statement as if you know that he was on drugs... Shouldn't there be an 'if' in there?

"can be" in this situation with all the honking and people everywhere it could cause an easy accident with one quick kick.
THey can be unpredictable sometimes according to what ive seen one do to a family member of mine.

I find it much harder to believe that the cop grabbed him by the throat, tried to to pull him into the cruiser, then shot him in front of his friend for not getting out of the street.
