Geez. Gupta just said some of the safety protocols were just developed upon learning the patient would be here.

Some people in suits went in...seems to be confusion about whi is the patient because two people walked in holding something.

Of course they were. They never expected to do this.

Did you hear him say, "What we think is the plane?"

The ambulance was surrounded by law enforcement vehicles.

Ugh, he also said, "To protect the patient from the other patients." I guess he's very susceptible to disease.

This is crazy... look at this vid:
Link The correspondent is saying they expected him to be on a stretcher but look, we think that is him walking in. (One guy helping him.) Geez, if true, I hope he does not trip and snare his containment suit.

Dude on CNN says, "He is not contagious." WTF "Very infectious but not that contagious."

Taking that corner a little recklessly. Ha.

And yes, new_here. Walking in? Weird. I dunno if that was him. Might have been a dress rehearsal or stunt double.

Guys & Gals,

This is not new. Back in March, a patient was brought in to a Saskatchewan, Canada CDC-like facility.
Truth is it happens often. Just that for some reason they want to run with this story to panic everyone.

This virus is location specific for a reason. Conditions are just right for this organism.

Yeah, so weird. Just driving up, three people dressed in haz mat med suits. stepping out of the ambulance, not in a enclosed area, just open, people not dressed in suits standing all around...then walking inside .

Yeah, I saw the 3 people standing around. Doesn't look like their taking any precautions.

Make that over 10, and we are not suppose to be worried.

I waited by Dobbins for a couple of housre earlier and gave up. I think they must have landed just as I left.

Honestly? I don't think what they showed was him. The whole thing is sort of...off.

ETA: Okay, Gupta just, "And Emory University is where the charitable organization chose."

There's a clue as to who funded this and made the decisions.

They keep saying it's infectious but not very contagious...okay....well what about that huge spike in cases that has aide workers people bailing out of West Africa. Truth is - they aren't sure.

Does it seem to you like Gupta was just "talked to?"

Ugh.

Damn, they even just said rehearsals.

And they are now saying no patient yet. And are speculating a LOT. I don't think he's in there.

I feel bad for the patients at that hospital. Careless and reckless.

I'm with you. Like you said earlier in the thread (I think it was you) ...he was probably transported earlier and this is just smoke and mirrors. I bet he was already in his room at Emory by the time they broke the news he was going to be treated there. If so, I'd hate to be the stunt double... somebody might have gone nuts and shot at him.

I feel they same. Brantly signed up for this, so did the infectious disease doctors - not so much the other patients at Emory.

Having spent a lot of time in an ATL hospital, I'm not too convinced.

My room was right next to a room meant for a patient with infectious disease, it had it's own air lock and an additional set of doors with a sink and shower. But, otherwise, it opened up to the main hallway. I have to believe that what Emory has set up to deal with this is so much more but the optics just shown on CNN don't look that great, TBH.
