This worries me .. why do they still accept flights from that region ? Seems it's all about the money or something else?

btw....

You DO know that Ebola has been in Atlanta since 1976, right?

Here are some facts for you, since you seem to want to imply that there have been active cases of Ebola in the US since 1976.

www.cdc.gov...

As you can see Ebola Reston is the only active case of Ebola in the US. Ebola Reston is not fatal to humans. Does the CDC have Ebola strains for study purposes? I'm sure they do. See my above post.

Accidents happen. So does sabotage and bioterrorism. I am well aware of the dangers, perhaps more so than you. But despite that knowledge, and in consideration of other over-riding information, I am a helluva lot more worried about the diseases created by industrial products and contamination. Already present, already pandemic, already killing people in the millions every year. For profit, to protect the corporate right to profit.

So from a larger perspective, and in comparison, bringing home 2 Ebola patients for treatment represents minimal danger.

On the other hand, going into panic overdrive illustrates an unfortunate lack of compassion, threatens a loss of humanity and promises nothing more than a return to brutal barbarianism.

I hope they are taking precautions with the many flights and many people scheduled to arrive in the U.S. next week for the Summit.

South Sudan: Kiir Leaves for U.S.-Africa Summit

About 50 African heads of state and government, the African Union chairperson, a range of US and African civil society and business leaders, young African leaders, and Members of Congress will attend the 6 August summit.

Wow, you really haven't read my posts in their entirety. Let me state my views AGAIN. They can EASILY care for these two patients in a less populated area. We have the ability to do that. But NO!!! Let's bring them to a highly populated area and trust no accidents will happen. NOT very smart. There are plenty of area in the US that are less densely populated that also have great medical facilities or the ability to set up mobile facilities. Believe me, I have plenty of compassion. You don't know me or what I have dealt with during my health care career.

Not only does Atlanta have direct flights to/from Africa... the CDC is conveniently nearby.

I would worry that these morons are bringing it to America to "study" - or weaponize. The USA has never been exposed to ebola, there is no telling what could happen if it "escapes/spreads" into America's virgin ebola population.

Now that it's out in the news that the U.S. Defense dept is working with the CDC on bringing the 2 ebola patients here, it's to look at ebola for possibly 2 things.

Looking at Ebola as a biological weapon. Or 2, looking at Ebola if it were to be used as a biological weapon.

No matter which, it makes me uncomfortable.

I am a little hesitant to post this, due to the implications, but:

there is work going on, some of it funded by the American military. The US department of defence Joint Project Manager Medical Countermeasure Systems has put $140m (£80m) into the early development of a potential drug by the Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation, which dosed its first human subject in January this year. The phase 1 trial is designed only to ensure the drug has no ill effects in healthy people who have been nowhere near the Ebola virus, but last week, it was put on hold while the regulator, the food and drug administration, asked for more information to ensure the safety of the volunteers.

source

And

The DoD is listed as a collaborator in a “First in Human” Ebola clinical trial (NCT02041715, which started in January 2014 shortly before an Ebola epidemic was declared in West Africa.

clinicaltrials.gov...

clinicaltrials.gov...

Disturbingly, the US government has an viral fever bioterrorism research laboratory in Kenema, a town at the epicentre of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

vhfc.org...

There has been speculation as to whether a mysterious 5th cohort added to the Tekmira clinical trial was linked to the outbreak in Guinea.

source

And for those (like me) who bought the 'superstition' reason that residents of West Africa feared hospitals and accused foreign doctors of bringing Ebola to their area (which of
course has never seen an outbreak in their area)...

SIERRA LEONE CLOSES US BIOWEAPONS LAB AT CENTRE OF EBOLA OUTBREAK, STOPS TULANE UNIVERSITY FROM EBOLA TESTING

So, you know, it's not a bunch of ignorant locals with tin foil hats slinging unfounded rumors. The government of Sierra Leone has apparently become concerned enough to close the place down.

GREAT stuff! S&

....There's so much more going on here than meets the eye. For starters, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) called it back in February when they pointed out the geographic "spread" - natural outbreaks have one epicenter - this epidemic has 5-7. Which suggests bioterrorism.

So the fact that there were several epicenters suggests purposeful. The facts that Guinea's new government cancelled mining permits negotiated by the previous corrupt government, and the region is sitting on Billion$ and Billion$ worth of easily accessible iron ore, bauxite, diamonds, gold and uranium describes motive.

You say that many pathogens are man made along with all the obvious destructive waste produced by industry, but you want us to trust these same people with a strain of Ebola that has a kill rate of 60 to 90% inside of the U.S?

If ebola mutated and spreads in the air faster now from coughing or sneezing this is gonna be major major dangerous.

How in the world did professional doctors get fluids into their saliva and blood into their system when they know the facts about the ebola virus or whatever kind of sickness it is?

It's tom Friedman the director of CDC who want to bring Ebola here assuring every thing will be OK.
If I am not mistaken this guy was director of ethical department at CDC. The department that propagate euthenasia meaning killing patients so they don't suffer. Like Dr kivorkian but this time kivorkian in the gov!!!??

Good stuff...

Thank you so much for bringing this info to this thread. It now makes sense to me why the CDC is working with the Defense Dept. to bring the good Dr. and his nurse to Atlanta.

We know his nurse is going to Emory Hospital...where the hell is he going? I would think they would be treated in the same facility...that appears to not be the case. I'm sure the Defense Dept has something in mind for him.

AND... from WHO's own website:

Ebola virus was isolated from semen 61 days after onset of illness in a man who was infected in a laboratory.

The incubation period, that is, the time interval from infection with the virus to onset of symptoms, is 2 to 21 days.

There is no mincing of words here. And it doesn't explain whether it was accidental or purposeful. Just all very clinically stated he was infected in a laboratory. Then goes on to say the time interval. Begs the question... were they able to determine the incubation period by infecting a few people? Then it got 'out of the lab' because one of their subjects escaped? Of course I'm just speculating...

The mishap is not if something go wrong. The mishap is if that plane ever comes here.
There is no guarantee the virus won't shed off the plane.
Not all factors are accounted for for how epidemics happen.
Not for Ebola not for any other epidemics.
CDC have flying hospitals. They can send one there.

What a crock.

Bringing the disease here is insanity. The risk far outweighs any benefit, heartfelt sympathy/empathy, which everyone has for these heroes who contracted this horrific disease helping others aside. I'm sitting less than 10 miles from Emory and cannot view the bringing of a deadly virus into a densely populated hot and humid climate in this or any country where there is no contagion is flat out criminal. The treatment and research could have been done elsewhere. End of discussion.

There are French doctors there running the show. They've been refusing to release the patients for flights because doctors have medical ethics not to cause harm to any human being regardless of nationality or politics.
It must have been a heavy weight politician who managed to override doctors decision there.why politicians interfere in things they don't know about??

Politicians represent those with a monetary stake in making certain laws and policies. Those moves are rarely in the interest of those that they are sworn to represent.

Revelations 6:8

And I saw, and look! a pale horse, and the one seated on it had the name Death. And the Grave was closely following him. And authority was given them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with a long sword and with food shortage and with deadly plague and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Ebola is certainly part of the deadly plague predicted here.

Also this scripture in Ezekiel

Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you

Ebola causes you to bleed in it's latter stages

Thankfully Rev 6:8 does not contain the Greek word for plague. It states with the sword, and with famine and with death.

Please may I direct you to Acts 24:1-6, specifically v5 for a spiritual understanding of pestilence ....a pestilence was sent to the Jews and it was the Truth being spoken by Apostle Paul, having been being sent into a body of people who were happy and content believing lies.

I was talking about that 3 years ago when I found this cable, but I was the paranoid back then

A German firm has applied for the approval of the export of 184 genetic elements with nucleic acid sequences of viruses for the production of recombinant viruses. The viruses will be used in optical imaging to identify host factors required for viral replication. The recipient in the USA is, according to the enclosed end use certificate, the Department of the Army "US Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID)" Fort Detrick, Maryland. Specifications in English about the goods, the recipient and end use can be seen from the end use certificate. The goods are controlled by the Australia Group and are subject to compulsory export approval (List position C1C353A). This matter concerns the complete genome of viruses such as the Zaire Ebola virus, the Lake Victoria Marburg virus, the Machupo virus and the Lassa virus, which are absolutely among the most dangerous pathogens in the world. The delivery would place the recipient in the position of being able to create replicating recombinant infectious species of these viruses.

ETA: the cable is about Germany and the US. Guess where the Ebola infected are being transported now?
