surely the would find creatures before bacteria unless its at the very beginning of the planets life or a dead planet sifting through rocks again .i want the next rover to get battered by an apelike alien dammit

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. “I would venture to say that most of my colleagues here today say it is improbable that in the limitless vastness of the universe we humans stand alone.”

"it is improbable that... we humans stand alone."

Bolden knows.

just kidding.

You do realize life has been found in the most toxic places on this planet, like at volcanic vents on the sea floor or in the poisonous hot springs of Yellowstone...

Life is out there, it may even be looking back at us.

The moons of Jupiter and Saturn are great places to look, and quite achievable. Even a 1 way manned mission is possible to confirm life out there within our lifetimes. Exciting times we live in.

i have it on good authority that a/mass identical hallucinations can happen or b/saucers are real with technology unknown to the masses either one is pretty cool .no saying its alien though .family birthday party 4 adult witnesses 2 stories high above 2 stories house hovered silent classic zip, zip no sound ,apparently it was interested in electricity box or it was just coincidental.the size about that of the house

a picture was taken but did not come out i never saw the pic though .

i think that aliens visit planets leave behind germs and under right conditions life which would also explain why there are reports of human looking aliens we are built from the same stuff

Hmmm..wouldn't surprise me at all if we find some form of life out there in the next twenty years.

Whether it may be intelligent ( ? ) or not is another matter. Frustratingly, there would never be any useful contact...it would just confirm our thinking that we are probably not alone in the incomprehensibly vast cosmos...

NASA already works with them and I really resent playing a game and being strung along by demons pretending this that and the other thing, and others are suitably impressed that the NASA scientists are saying this, OMG its disgusting that they concoct yet another variation of lies to cover what they already know and deal with every day.

This is the probably the biggest thing that NASA has said in a very long time, and that's all you have to say...that it's just another "scheme?"

Basically, today NASA came out and said "We think there is life on other planets."

This is disclosure. This is buttering people up for the truth. This is big. This is more than a "scheme."

Big picture channel please.

NASA has openly discussed the likelihood of life elsewhere for quite some time. For example, when they talk about the search for exoplanets around other stars, they are constantly talking about looking for habitable planets and the idea life potentially being on those planets.

In the 1970s, NASA put a "message in a bottle" on the Pioneer 10 and 11 and the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft on the off-chance 9extremely off-chance) that some passing ET would one day stumble upon it. Sure, it was more symbolic than anything, but that also symbolized NASA's ideas that life may exist elsewhere. Much of the specific purposes of some of their Mars missions (even back in the 1970s) has been to look for signs of life -- whether they be past or present.

So NASA is simply now talking about using better tools to focus that search for life elsewhere, but that search is not a new one.

NASA has an entire website dedicate to the scientific research going on for the search for life elsewhere, and the website has been around for years:

NASA Astrobiology Institute: Life in the Universe

The NASA Astrobiology Institute was set up over 15 years ago to (among other things) help NASA determine the framework for future NASA missions' search for life. So, obviously, if they have such an institute, then they feel that the idea of life elsewhere is a real thing worth investigating.

In addition, I'd like to address something you wrote in your OP:

To all of our salient friends here at ATS who challenge the existence of other-worldly life, or even that disclosure happens more and more every day

I'm not sure who you are talking to, but I think the number of people on ATS who "challenge the existence of other-worldly life" is probably quite small. Sure -- there are plenty of people on ATS who challenge the idea of alien visitation of Earth, but that is a completely separate issue. I think most of the people who challenge the idea that aliens are visiting Earth also feel that it is likely that other life exists somewhere out there.

For example, I personally feel that given the size of the universe and what we know about the ability for examples of extremophile life here on Earth to "find a way", there is almost surely other life out there in the universe -- probably even the galaxy. However, even though I feel that way, I also think the evidence for alien visitation of earth is not that convincing.

And, by the way, if researchers and scientists find proof of life elsewhere, whether it be in 20 years or 2 years, it will probably be a "discovery", not "disclosure".

And yet you will believe without question any wild, unsubstantiated claim by any anonymous poster so long as it is in line with your New Age, exo-political, theoretically conspiratorial, "experiencer" views.

I don't see this as much of a big deal.. Carl Sagan had said similar things based on estimations ... Pretty sure NASA has made similar statements in the past..

Basically it just means that the universe is so vast that statistically it's more likely than not that life out there exists in some form ... it's almost guaranteed... but it's the vastness of the universe that also makes it unlikely to run into another form of life any time soon.

By the way .. NASA is not a branch of the government, it's a civilian organization that gets funding from the federal government.. people talk about it like it's this branch of government that has tons of secret knowledge

Maybe on paper, but that relationship is so close that there is hardly any difference between the two. It has worked seamlessly with government from the beginning.

I partially agree with this; government oversight of NASA means that in many cases NASA has close ties to the government. That's not saying that the government controls NASA -- they only control their budget, but they do not micro-manage NASA.

Contrary to the population of ATS the rest of the world does not think that nasa or any agency is hiding any proof of extraterrestrial life form. I came here for proof of ET and years later I now know that there's nothing to the stories. Every instance of video is shown to be a lie. Every person who makes wild claims has been proven disreputable. It is not a common belief in the real world. It's a fringe belief.
Sorry but really... reply to: MRuss
