SO to get this thread back on topic. Zaph, any new news from your friend about what he saw. Any epiloge to the sighting? So far we got a jet that's bigger than an average jet with a green test light on the bottom hauling ass away and burning some other fighters trying to escort/keep up with it.

Any new developments? What do you think your buddy saw?

No. What is mentioned in this tread is 1. ground breaking for the military. 2. very bad ass. 3. One of several possible things that the US has coming operational if not already that will be a game changer. 4. will smack the stupid arrogant grin off of other nations that really thought they were figuring out how to defeat the US air power. And 5. still not what I saw. Which is a check mate sort of thing. I can re-live each time I saw it. and it wasn't long each time, in slow motion in my head and I remember the detail. The more I think of it the more confident I am that we are MUCH, MUCH more advanced than anyone in the world in military tech.

But like I said. Seeing is believing. And I'm now a recent convert. Check my latest posts, since recently the tone has changed, from not much interest at all to holy crap it does exist! I believe. I've seen one thing we can do, and it was really cool. Astounding actually, and that's not hamming it up. Even half of what I saw capability wise being deployed will crush the opposition. America has been hard at work developing new military tech. Even if it's really secret. It's there . It exists. Doom on you if you are the enemy. That's not a joke. Seriously, it will be doom on you, don't try it. Just a friendly warning. We got your number and in a number of different platforms.

I believe that you saw something cool. What was it that this craft did that makes you believe that it will truly trump everything other nations would be able to throw at it? From what I remember of your posts, something flew past you very quickly... I am guessing there is more to it than just its speed.

I have been lurking ATS for years now... I have found this part of ATS, the Aircraft Projects forum to be awesome. I follow these threads as part of my daily internet reading. It seems like a few members here have some info they can't share... I get it, even if I REALLY want to know. I have nothing to offer here for content, so I rarely post. I just wait and hope for someone to post something they shouldn't.
If you feel like sharing more about what you saw, I would appreciate it. If not, I understand. I guess I just want to know how these cool projects fit into our current/ future military strategy. If we have something that is that advanced, why not use it if it could keep troops out of harm's way.

He was actually about to head homea day or two after seeing it, so he only saw it that one time. My gut says seriously updated SR-71 type platform (Mach 4-5, possibly higher, high altitude recon, maybe with a limited strike capability). Pretty much everyone I know has said "something really cool" and clammed up.

This green single light has been seen in the UK - West coast between Cornwall and Wales, which just happens to be the very area the B-2B bombers refuelled recently.

As HAVE BLUE, TACIT BLUE and 'Boscombe Down Special' before it, they seem to have stretched its legs to the UK for flights.

Thanks, I will... what does it take to be able to pm other members, 10 posts? I am not sure if it is against the rules, but I pmed my questions to Zaphod58 to forward to you. I'm not sure if he would, and even if he does, I am guessing that I won't be able to receive your answer.

So , from what I understand from this place, here is a list of the cutting edge projects being worked on
- Al least two forms of long range bombers
- A replacement for the SR-71
- A number of UAV's capable of long term loitering for em and recon
- Something that blasts everything else on the list out of the water

Thanks everyone for everything posted.

What I don't understand is if they have an aircraft that is 'doom' for anybody, why would they not reveal it as a deterrent? Or maybe they would if it would actually have to be used....

Because as I said before, showing it off gives people time to figure it out, and work on counters.

Using it in what is essentially a bushfire war, like Iraq, is the equivalent of blowing your house up after seeing one cockroach.

And if this uses what I think it does the fuel burn will be lower than that.

Don't ask because I won't tell.

no worries.
we won't tell that you didn't tell us about biefeld-brown effect being used again.

Hell maybe they've done a demonstration/flyby or two for some of the bigwigs and execs recently at their los angeles corporate offices. You know to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new craft. Wouldn't be unthinkable.

"hey look at us! we're flying low, supersonically, over one of the largest cities in the world at a pretty active hour in some of the most densest airspace with military assets and bases and radar all around and nobody noticed a thing! We did it not once but TWICE!! So uhhh do we get the new contract senators?"

If I had seen something like that going down a month or so ago It wouldn't surprise me. Although what I saw I really think was no bomber, or quiet boom concept, something waaaay more advanced. It was just doing stuff too unreal with it's speed, silence, and weird ass blue lights. Oh yeah and the weird bluish fog thing and the trailing star that joined it. But still I wouldn't be surprised to learn that I had seen something less exciting and it was one of these new soon to go greyish/white craft.

So, you ionize the air in an envelope around the supersonic craft to eliminate friction which also has the convenient side effect of not creating a pressure wave.

No sonic boom.

How close am I?

has anyone seen a certain northrop grumman commercial recently? at the very end there is a invisible aircraft displacing the clouds or its out of frame above the clouds or just below them. I suspect that is the new aircraft they are teasing.

RATTLRS may be using the JP-7 variety. It went quiet a few years ago - about two years before the subject FBO was released. I know Allison poured a ton of money into the J102 variant.

Video: Lockheed RATTLRS

That is some disinfo for ya! That thing was used eons ago to take spy shots over heavily defended airspace back in the 60s.
