So are you suggesting Bill Nye was wrong .. therefore ET aliens must exist? If so I am having a hard time boarding that train.

Bill Nye was wrong about the photos being faked. They were real photos of a space ship from earth that was carried by balloon but really only made half way to space so not a space ship anyway. If Bill Nye had read something about the case he was trying to debunk, like the report that was linked, he wouldn't need to pull stuff out his butt. I think Bill Nye is an alien.

Yes, I am just trying to comprehend the point he was making. Bill Nye was wrong therefore ... what?

Bill Nye was wrong. Although the larger ideas of the photograph not showing anything ET was indeed correct, Nye was wrong about it being a fake. Although then you can play semantics and claim the photo was edited by being cropped, and once edited it was no longer "real" and thus fake ... not a semantics game I would choose to play.

Well, my feeling is that Bill Nye is not as informed as he should be going onto a show like that. Why is he the only one representing skeptics on Larry king? And whats with the bow tie?

Sure he's right most of the time but he's an easy target. So you get a panel of military guys who make the rounds with their UFO shtick and the science guy who looks like he had about 10 minutes to prepare?

Kinda like what Nye and John Oliver did to the "Climate Change Denier"... and what Nye did to the "Intelligent Design Guy".

No not at all.

I was merely pointing out that EVERYBODY should check their facts and sources and sometimes the skeptics can get it wrong too because they haven't done their homework.

What I would say is that the subject fascinates a lot of people because we are now at a point were it seems the universe has to contain life beyond this small blue planet we live on. The stories that form part of UFO lore are more exciting (crashed saucers, alien bodies, government cover-ups etc.) than a lot of the boring old academic studies and scientific searches for life beyond Earth. Perhaps the sheer volume of these stories distorts & influences what people believe to be true? I don't know.

However in 60+ years the UFO community has failed to turn up one iota of real evidence that aliens exist to convince a majority of people on the planet. This is despite some sterling work in the field by some individuals but not helped by the fakers, attention seekers and charlatans either.

Science meanwhile is slowly and very gradually introducing us to what's beyond our own world. Maybe first contact will be confirmed by a distant signal, the discovery of alien bacteria on one of the bodies in the Solar System, or the first signs of life detected by our technology on a planet light years away. Maybe it will be more exciting or even more frightening than any of those scenarios?

Who knows?

None of the evidence presented in the OP is actual evidence that can be verified or tested...or that prove without a doubt that aliens have visited Earth. While interesting, compelling & thought provoking...it isn't evidence (And none exists thus far) of ET visitations.

Nye being wrong is not evidence anyone else is right. Just is not evidence they are wrong.

I completely agree. I always look into something before I post about it.

False. There is the exact same amount of evidence for ET life there was 100 years ago, or 100,000, or 10 million, literally zero. We have information that gives us more hope, but hope is not science.

Sadly human nature ruins a lot of things.

Who knows, I can not say you are wrong, it's certainly plausible. I can not refute ET life existing nor would I try to. Sometimes I think I am lucky to have been born when I was, and others I feel a gross misjustice was done to me.

I didn't really phrase that paragraph well did i?

What I meant to say is that perhaps people are more susceptible to believe in ET than they were in the past because of UFO lore and the scientific discoveries we've made of exo-planets for example.

That I agree with. But I think it's more likely to believe in ET existing .. not necessarily ET visiting Earth.

zetarediculian and occamsrazor.

what couple of pathetic TROLLS.
this person created a thread evidence that convinced "ME". why are you even on this thread? what has it to do with you what evidence and it is evidence, you could take his articles to a court and presented as evidence of ET no matter what you say it still could be used as evidence.
you have ruined and interesting thread.
you have to come to site like this and try and prove how clever you both are you can not in your real life.
you are not even correct, what a couple of TROLLS (look it up you 2 meet the definition)

why do you people even bite when these trolls join a thread? just blank them. act like they don't even exist!!!

I am not sure what you are saying but if you would like to discuss any of the points I made, I would be happy to clarify what I said. I was very specific with what I disagreed about and why.

you have to come to site like this and try and prove how clever you both are you can not in your real life.
actually I am even more clever in real life

So which points do you want to discuss or are you content with childish comments?

Our collective denial has a lot to do with belief systems in the public psyche. Sample from JamesGMason.com "If they still have belief in a god or gods the proposal that there are beings from another world who are far more advanced than us, means worlds to the believer, emotionally. It means ripping away the deeply seated belief (i.e. brainwashing) that we humans are something special, that we were created by a single god, and then micro managed by that god. And that we were alone in the universe and so the only ones seen by God (we don't want to share God with weird gray aliens!) and therefore regarded as precious by God." jamesgmason.blogspot.com...

God... Aliens... it's all belief at this point.

Lack of conviction is not the same as denial, nor does it necessarily reflect any particular "belief system".

And as far as the "collective denial"... www.huffingtonpost.com...
