Firefighter chases dog and both are missing 411?

I too was not concerned about Byars until I saw the picture and started focusing on the esctacy/alcohol variable in this case. In my opinion, David Paulides completely missed this important piece and it really takes a bit of credibility away from being a totally paranormal occurence. No other Missing 411 case had any victim that was doped up on drugs before or after they went Missing.

The bites/scratches/wounds that Byars may have received from Duke (as WanDash pointed out) would easily be explained away as natural like he said. This is why the police had no case or anything against him. But the narcotics issue was not further explored by the cops??!! They didn't ask him where they got the pills, and why they got the pills, and the Arcadia Fire Department didn't suspend him or question regarding his dumb dumb decision which resulted in the death of a government employee and his "best friend" ?

In my opinion, the decision to close the case by the police is a big mistake. Now one more point I'd like to explore...are we, the members of ATS discussing this topic, open to any type of defamation lawsuit/action by Byars or the Arcadia Fire Department if they found out about this thread? Are we legally allowed to discuss this case even though the police closed it shut?

I am still thinking about Duke. Duke was with both Herdsman
& Byars. Did then men travel together to the trail?

If so were they in a pick up truck? Did Duke ride between them?

How much time did Duke spend with both men before the accident?

I still find it very odd that Duke was afraid of Byars unless Byars did
something bad. Usually once you befriend an animal & spend some time
with it then they are friendly with you.
I would think once Herdsman went missing & Duke couldn't find him
then Duke would want to be with Byars & not abandoned just to be
alone.
It seems that Duke no longer trusted (if trust was ever there) Byars
& was afraid of him...doesn't add up to normal behavior.

I am seeing it, just fine.
On another site, I had the "little square" issue... I right-clicked the little square and an option presented to view the 'pic'. I selected that option, and the picture/image displayed.

Ok great. I had removed the pics earlier from my upload library and thought this is why they aren't showing up anymore. I haven't been able to locate Herdman's social media profiles and his name is very very common. The pictures I have seen from Byar's facebooks AFTER JULY 2014 suggest the following:

1). He still has a very active social life and is still venturing to the great outdoors with his male friends.

2). He is a firearms enthusiast and is pictured many times posing with weapons

3). He also is seen wearing a shirt with a large right side up pentagram. This could be innocent but still worth noting

4). He has a really odd cover photo (the large banner picture above his smaller profile picture). It is of him and his EMT/Firefighter buddies surrounded around a dead man who is hooked up to a medical machine. The family of this dead man is surrounded around him and crying. To the very extreme right of the picture someone has either photoshopped/edited and placed the dead man's ghost looking at the scene in sheer horror. Definitely a weird picture because of the ghost standing in it, but it's his job so maybe it's innocent but the ghost part is freaky. Oh, and he seems to be more of an EMT than regular firefighter.

Apparently in California it's okay to drink a bunch of alcohol and swallow a bunch of ecstasy pills if you are an emergency worker, go out in the middle of nowhere and end up dead. Oh and then shove a massive bill covering the search and rescue efforts to the taxpayers. Case closed, let's go get a drink!

By the way regarding the ghost picture with Byars in it...totally shameful to show a victim like that, and with his ghost to the right side. From the comments, he was very disrespectful as were his friends, likening the deceased victim to a zombie.

I have followed him on facebook in terms of the pictures and comments that are made available to the public. He seems to be doing just fine, hiking in the desert with his friends, shooting guns, etc. I did not befriend him on facebook. Check the post above regarding any strange comments. I don't have twitter.

Yes it's confirmed this is the same Taylor Byars involved in the Mike Herdman case.

Side note: is it Arcadia Fire Department policy for their employees to show a scene like that? Especially one that involves a death and then to bizarrely add his ghost into the scene? This to me is not standard operating procedure. So we see a pattern emerging...

WOW - that graphic, painting, whatever it is, is way over the top bizarre. I hope that was not his Christmas card...but who knows? This deal is so strange it might have been.

Maybe Byars has PTSD due to the entire situation? It always amazes me that people (especially people in the public eye, like Byars is due to this case) post that kind of weirdness for the world to see. Including his employers and the general public that rely on his "skills".

In any case, if he does have PTSD because of what he witnessed, I wonder if he would be willing to under-go hypnosis?

Good points. Definitely WEIRD pics to post, if I was the family of the victim of that tasteless and disrespectful picture I wouldn't like it one bit. Someone mocking your deceased relative or friend like that is disturbing. Also, who the heck took that pic? Do EMT workers have the time to take pics of victims? It's not even allowed legally. What would he be trying to say? Why wouldn't he have a pic of his deceased friend or anything instead of this Halloween-esque photo op?

Sure, it could be. But where is the rest of his costume? He looks quite comfortable there in his black wife beater. It's also not October anymore. Who knows. I didn't see the devil horns pic on his facebook though.

Edit: not sure about the date, only an technical wizard would be able to find out. I'm sure we have a lot here, perhaps someone will stumble upon this and lend their professional opinion.

Are you sure he's in that painting or is it just a painting?
The graphics do look like something you would see on a card,
but it is rather strange.

You made me think about something I hadn't considered...maybe Byars is the one who took the picture of that scene. Either that, or he's the guy next to the machine (second from left) looking downwards. It's not a painting, according to his own comment under the picture, he says the man is dead and his friends are light heartedly joking about the victim looking like a zombie, and he's giving them all the "thumbs up"...

The horns do appear to be top notch artist quality, professionally applied and not off the shelf. Again, he might be going to a party, but he chooses that one picture to represent himself and portray himself like that to the online world.
