Interesting thread op.

Perhaps time to revisit an older ATS thread too.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

About the Australian Yowie.

Interesting how the North American Bigfoot, Australian Yowie, Russian Almasti, And Indian Yeti, all have such similar traits.
Is it realy just people's fertile imagination?

It is relevant to remember that, unlike North America and Asia, there are no large bears, or any bears in Australia.....except the Koala bear, of course they will kill you with one scratch then pee on you, but you cant mistake them for a Bigfoot.

Even though that bear was walking upright, it still looked like...a bear.

I think most people who are familiar with wildlife know the difference between natural wildlife and something completely different. If they were unsure of what they saw, they wouldn't claim it was a bigfoot. Just my opinion. I tend to believe the OP saw a big foot or certainly something out of the norm.

David Attenborough is VERY familiar with wildlife. Here he is talking about Yetis and Sasquatch:

Thank you for posting this,
I wasnt aware of Sir Davids opinions on the subject.
Very refreshing to hear it from a man of the highest respect and credibility.

Also adding this interview i found after watching the above.

The man is fantastic, how many people of equal respect would just state their opinions on the subject without hesitation, or fear of ridicule?
Not Sir David!

I would like to hear his opinions of Sasquatch worldwide, no mention of the Pacific North West/Canada etc.

It's a funny world we live in that just saying something is possible takes courage. But it does.

Given this fact it's nice to see that there are still people like David Attenborough with that courage.

It's interesting how the interviewer and audience in the video you posted aren't as appreciative. There's the sense of an awkward silence. But Sir David doesn't back off. He pushes his case forward regardless.

Sounds to me like you camped in a Sasquatch's favorite feeding ground. He probably wanted whatever was in that creek and didn't want to wait you out. They often behave like this according to reports when they want you out of their territory. Probably wasn't going to hurt you. Just wanted you scarred away. The dripping sound. Do you think it could have been little pebbles being thrown at your tent to spook you? Sounds like he escorted you out and once he knew you were leaving dropped back and stopped the escort out. He didn't want your food. Just wanted you to get your own plot of land to camp in.

Those photos look like a tall bipedal creature standing next to a 20 cubic yard storage container to me. Could be a bear. The hair looks kinds along. Looks like it's looking down at something in front of it to the left of the container.

That guys (girl?) about 7 1/2 tall from the looks of it.

Exactly, 9 out of 10 of the individuals in that room are probably under the impression that humans cover the planet.
Its just not the way it is, 99% of people live in areas of cramped chaos and the rat race.
Just looking at satellite images gives you a good idea of how HUGE these areas are, from the Himalayas, Thailand, Russia, The Cascades, Appalachians, The Rockies, Canada, Alaska............Etc.

Nice story. I know the feeling you felt very well. It is enough to give you the willies by itself. I lived in the mountains of Colorado for years. I had sightings there but nothing as close as yours. I am amazed by the skeptics. If you spend much time in the wilderness you probably wouldn't be so skeptical lol.

I live in a different state now, but there have been a lot of sightings recently near here. Alas, none for me here. It would be much harder here. In the Colorado mtns my sightings were easier because of the terrain. Here you could stand ten feet away and never see them lol.

As a Christian i don't really know how to explain them and probably wouldn't believe if I had not seen with my own eyes.

As the oceans warm i think we will find other mysteries emerge from the deep. Someday maybe we will have a body. They did not think chupacraba was real either.

I can understand a random sighting, but multiple sightings.....? Pics or it didn't happen.

Yeah, of course you're amazed. Obviously there are no skeptics (including biologists) who spend far more time in various "bigfoot" ecosystems and are likely to know far more about them, than people who make such claims could imagine. Never happens, obviously no belief in bigfoot = never been out of the city. In contrast, bigfooters are all a cross between David Attenborough, Jungle Jim and Steve Irwin.

Or not.

They did not think chupacraba was real either.

From my paranormal thread:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I think bigfoot has been seen and encountered several times in all 50 states, but i'm not sure about hawaii?

Sure enough, bigfoot has been seen in hawaii >www.bigfootencounters.com...

Now theres around 2,500 miles of ocean between hawaii and california. So either a population of bigfoot has survived on hawaii and if so,how did they originally get there? Or bigfoot is capable of swimming incredibly long distances? Or bigfoot likes to stowaway on ships and planes? Or bigfoot is ascending among us from underground?

The trees popping and crashing tell the whole story. They can run through dense stuff you cannot even get through.
Can hit 35 mph and stride (recorded) 6 to 10 feet per step. Was probably a big one, but could have been juvenile, you catch site of them in day sometimes. Nite is there time.

Unknown to people National Parks shutting areas where Big Foot ran up against people. Parks will not tell you how many are missing. Yellowstone has most. They disappear...One case the guy was tossed off cliff, at bottom he was 300 yd from base. This I got from Forest Ranger I no. Cannot talk about it. But they are shook up

Be careful...protect there area

Hello Alter-Ego, I just wanted to back up your sighting & say in case of these big guys what MrInquisitive says is not always the case it appears , I as well had an experience October of 2007 where a massive one walked off the hill just about 20 feet from me , It was not afraid , it did nothing aggressive toward me only stare me in the eyes as it slowly walked on out of sight .

My sighting was not brief either & it was standing on two legs walking the whole time so like you it was a up close & personal experience .

It has sent me on a search for everything I can find & learn about them since that day , before then I had only run across the word a few times in the papers as a kid & thought it was just crap to sell papers. What a shock I got !

My sighting is documented here in several places so I won't bother to recount it in detail again. I find myself laughing (at myself) for my skeptical self before I saw it. So many replies are exactly what I thought. No bodies, no genetic evidence, no good footage of it, all of that.

I am at a total loss how all of that can be true and so can the fact that I saw it myself. I had plenty of time to look, and it was illuminated in my car headlights very well. It was not a bear, it was not a man in a monkeysuit. The sheer size of the creature throws those explanations out the window. I was not on drugs or impaired in any way.

I also did not even consider stopping to get a better look or to look for evidence. I was in a VW Beetle, and from the size of that thing that wouldn't matter much if he chose to be aggressive. Upon going back out there with the BFRO investigator when we got out of the car I was VERY uncomfortable, even being armed at that point.

Making up a story would not have kept me out of the woods. I loved and still love the woods...but I don't go out there into the deep woods by myself anymore. That was not a conscious decision, but more of an observation of my behavior in the last couple of years since my own sighting. If I was just telling a story I would be doing it around a campfire with some gullible folks to spook out.

The fact is my desire to be out in the woods has evaporated. Dunno where the anxiety comes from as it was not aggressive in any manner. Maybe just the knowledge that my 30-06 would be marginal at best against such a massive creature. No longer a skeptic here, but not sure what I believe either.

My old Lakota friend says it is an inter-dimensional creature or a space alien. From the enthusiastic and never ending supply of people who line up to ridicule and call liars everyone who has a sighting, I wonder if there are and is evidence of it after all and maybe they just aren't saying so. A Disinformation campaign if you will. Very successful one too.

My own sighting was on the border of Ft Lewis Army base and I know they have night vision, FLIR, air support and all of the above going over there pretty much 24-7 practicing their night maneuvers.

All of those thoughts crossed my head upon seeing it. That there must be a breeding population, and they MUST have first hand knowledge of it despite all the incessant skeptics. Call me a liar all you want as I don't care. Folks that go out in the woods need to know it is there plain and simple. Spent all my life going out in the woods until I was 47 years old without seeing any hint of such a thing. Now I know different.

Now I am going to go back and read the last three pages.

I'm also from Michigan and the UP is as about as rural as you can get.. it's full of bears and cougars (I've yet to see a wolverine.. anyways while I was camping up at copper harbor I had a similar incident.. I couldn't make out what it was. Thought at first a bear or moose because of the size.. the more I consider it though the more I think it was something else.. I've had bear elk and moose sneak up on me and never had that uncomfortable terrified feeling before. That's what makes me believe your telling the truth.. there is nothing like it.. it's as if sheets of terror course through you.. I didn't see exactly what it was.. it got uncomfortably quiet, a feeling all of a sudden I wasn't alone and then the fear like I've never known before.. I just heard crashing through the under brush ahead of me.. I'd like to say I stuck around, but I bolted..I know that's the worse thing you can do specially if it's a bear. But I couldn't help it..

Thank you all for your responses and sharing your beliefs and personal experiences! It is comforting to know Im not alone, that others have seen what I have seen... although I do not feel that I need validation (I was there) when you see something like this, any rational person at one point or another.. questions it. I have nothing to gain here. I am not selling "bigfoot" nor am I seeking to "find" it again. There is something out there... just what it is, is the true mystery for me.

Outstanding drawing. I myself had an encounter. Me and my girlfriend were heading back from michigan. It was really late about two in the morning. Along a stretch of tar road with pine trees on both sides. I saw this 7 foot light brown hairy thing digging in someones garbage. I slowed the car down to take a picture, but my girlfriend said to keep driving. I said that i wanted to take a pic and she started to scream keep going. go, go. I didn't get the pic. Would of been a good one to put on youtube. chubaka gets hungry and dumpsterdives.

I don't have pics and didn't see anything, but very weird things happened that night that scared us. Things that don't just happen. This happened around 1987.

What kind of weird things?

I think bigfoot does exist, i just saw on tv a show about people finding the yeti. It was a very old form of a polar bear. So bigfoot may be a really old bear of some kind or even a ape. I saw this show in 2014. i dont remember what it was called.

Hi Re guarding you Bigfoot story regarding Huntsville , Ontario. I am afraid the fellow from Mich is either confused or not telling the truth of this story. He states that the cabin is about 10 miles outside the of town of Huntsville and the Cabin is very remote with NO other cabins within 12 to 15 miles from his cabin.. If he knew what he was talking about he would know that there is not and area within 30 plus miles from Hunstville that is remote. There are homes, houses, cottages, loges, etc everywhere within 30 to 50 miles from Huntsville. There are no remote areas that have 12 miles between cottages within 30 miles of Huntsville. I know i am from Huntsville and this is a heavy tourist area for last 50 yrs or more. You might want to change your story or your location as this did not happen 10 miles from Huntsville and 12 plus miles from any other cottage because it was so remote. 12 miles would put you back in Huntsville 18,000 people.
and over 150,000 in summer.

The area was around Otter lake... the nearest town was Huntsville. This was over 30 years ago so Im sure that there have been many changes to the area now as we humans seem to have a hell bent desire to deforest and pave the whole world. Thanks for your comment but you seemed to have not read that happened over 30 years ago.
