This makes my blood absolutely boil. I know Saddam wasn't the best of leaders, and yes, he had some nasty things under his belt, but holy *snip*, we've messed that country up beyond repair. I can't help but wonder how the country would be faring had we not gone in guns a-blazing like we did. And if memory serves, we surpassed Saddam's numbers in civilians killed there several years ago. If our kill count surpasses that of the late "Bad Guy", then what does that say about us?

All the time, all the money, all the lives --civilian and military alike-- in Iraq. Wasted. Every bit of it, completely wasted.

I come from the generation of Vietnam...my father who was a Korean war vet, promised me that he would take me to Canada if I got drafted to go to Vietnam in the early 70's....he said the same thing, and he turned out to be right.

American contractors being evacuated from Balad Airbase.

What a damned waste.

I was just about to post a you tube of the fall of Saigon, but decided against it but yes all those embassy staff and contractors might be getting evacuated shortly.

Allow me.

Fall of Saigon 1975

History tends to repeat itself.
America pulled out in Vietnam and it collapsed to the North.

Much like Vietnam, many soldiers lost their lives for nothing.

Iraq is lost, period.
And I have to wonder when all is said and done in the middle east, what becomes of Israel?
Besides the potential starting point for WW3.

America cant afford to return to Iraq, and the rest of the world doesn't seem to have any interest in getting involved.

With America losing its control in the middle east and tensions with Russia and China, America's future is looking bleak.

Why does Rome come to mind?

Just my 2 cents
~Cheers~

America should not have to be the ones loosing their life over this again after being forced to leave.

Agreed.

People need to fight there own battles.

Instead of Us fighting for them.

We have a mass immigration problem right now, flooding our own country with who the hell knows..
They should use that money and send it to texas to help stop this monstrosity, and keep the public safe..

TV News just reported ... VP BIden said we are going in to help.

What 'going in' means ... I don't know.

What time period that is ... I don't know.

If I were in the White House I'd have the birds hot and in the air.
But this is Obama we are talking about .... so God only knows ....

'War spending' is over in Iraq, and Afghanistan.

They have the money to secure our southern border, but that is never going to happen.

Because they don't want the border secured.

Because much like both Iraq, and Afghanistan was all about the politics.

Those are undocumented 'voters'

The fact that the Iraqi army are deserting like cowards tells me they don't deserve their freedom and WE shouldn't have bothered in the first place!

Iran!

Because they want the current Iraqi government:

But again, Iraq is working at cross-purposes to the U.S., decrying efforts to oust Assad and letting Iran use its airspace to ship weapons to Assad's government.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

In this Policy Focus, Iraq experts Michael Eisenstadt, Michael Knights, and Ahmed Ali assess the current extent of Iranian influence and the prospect of Tehran emerging as the eventual "winner" of the war in Iraq.

www.washingtoninstitute.org...

To repeat since Saudi backs AQ and Iran and Saudi are 'mortal enemies'.

Easy to see why Iran wants to keep the status quo.

I have this theory and it is way out there, as to why Obama doesn't really seem to be in charge.

Iran!

I was wondering how they were going to destabilize Iran too, they seem to have avoid much of the upheaval in the region, until now.

I have one too!

That the only people he considers to be 'terrorists' are those in this country who stand in the way of his 'fundamental transformation'.

Because they like to destroy other peoples homes instead of their own.

Like Iraq,Syria,Afghanistan etc.
