I'm watching TWC east coast, looking forward to the next episode of " Game of Thrones" since last week was canceled due to memorial day weekend. Suffered through a movie called " R.I.P.D" waiting for GOT to start.

Left the living room to warm up a piece of pizza at 8:50pm went back in the kitchen at 8:57 pm. Got my slice out of the oven, only to find that when I returned to the living room, it was now 9:59 pm and I missed the whole show. What the he'll just happened? I didn't fall asleep, the pizza was still hot. I just lost an hour in what seemed a split second.

When you left the living room, did you check the time on a clock in the living room, like through your cable or satellite, or did you check one in the kitchen? Is it possible the clocks simply don't match? Like, maybe the microwave wasn't set for daylight savings or something? I did that with the DVD recorder this last time change, and recorded an hour early for a show, thus missing it.

If the clocks all match, that's pretty weird. The two minutes off, hour aside, seems like a clock issue more than a time slip, though.

Edit to add: I see you state later that the clocks all do match, so that's definitely odd. Unless all are set through a network, and the network was off somehow, it makes no sense. Only way that could work is if ALL the clocks set that way, like cell phones, computers, and cab;e/sat boxes do. A microwave isn't typically connected like that. IF that was the case, though, and the clocks were all an hour earlier than they should be, then they corrected at the same time, that would explain the pizza. That seems unlikely, though, since microwave clocks don't tend to be connected to anything, and have to be set manually.

Is there any chance you read the hour wrong? I did that one morning, and accidentally woke the hubby an hour early, because a glance at the clock, when I was low on sleep, I read wrong.

I can understand the concerns about health issues from some, but the pizza being warm makes that highly unlikely. An hour and two minutes, it would have been cold, unless someone was there that could have re-warmed it.

Did all of the digital clocks in your residence jump forward an hour? Even your computer? How about analog? Most strange! I have had issues with my cable box before, where it looped into East Coast Programming, but other clocks remained on Central. My cell phone has shown time glitches and I have even received text messages from future dates. No info or data in them, but future time stamps. Most curious!

My son's cell phone has done that recently. With his, it sets itself twelve hours ahead of where it should be, which wreaks havoc with alarms! No idea why, since the other cells on the same service aren't doing it. Weird software glitch is all we can figure. Some texts he sent me came in, according to the dates on his system, the next day.

In college I was letting a friend use my room, and found an empty bunk in another room. I lay down, and blinked, and the next thing I knew it was morning. I was in the exact same position, hadn't moved my body at all, just blinked, and many hours went by between blinking and opening my eyes. I was lying down though, and not standing up, or, more importantly, heating up a pizza!

Have you woken up your girlfriend to see if you had done anything in that hour that she can confirm? ...like coming into the room and talking to her....or anything? You may want to see if she knows anything you did....otherwise I'm calling it a channeling/psychic issue.

Well, several explanations...

A) You did not, in-fact, go to the kitchen at 8:50 but at 9:50 for some reason. Maybe because you had a clock not set at S/T yet and assumed it being an hour earlier but it was not.

B) You did go into the kitchen at 8:50 and "took out the slice of pizza", but for some reason you took much longer doing what you did in the kitchen just didn't realize it took you an hour? (You were not really clear what exactly you did in the kitchen, maybe you did something else besides taking out the pizza?)

C) Something happened you don't remember, you passed out/fell asleep or got into a daze due to meds? alcohol? drugs? stress? bumped your head of the fridge and passed out?

D) Aliens?

I think we can assume that you didn't have the pizza in the MW for an hour..because then the pizza would have been cold...or very, VERY well done : ) So..the slip must have happened before you put the pizza in or after you took it out?

She came into the kitchen while I was pulling the slice out of the toaster oven. Don't like microwave pizza. She asked me to turn down the tv because she could hear it in the bedroom. Timing wise this seemed normal as she normally retires to bed between 8:30 and nine most evenings.

Edit to add the toaster has a timer that I set to two and a half minutes so I wouldn't miss the start of the show.

I am on the east coast and really wasn't paying attention to the time, but I got really anxious and restless which is pretty common when I have slipped realities. I'll be sure to observe more intently tomorrow and see if anything noticeable has changed.

Time might be relative, but it doesn't take an hour and a half to drive through my small town. Never the less, I lost that amount of time a few years back and to this day have zero explanation for it. Once again, the town can be driven through going 15-30 mph in under 6 minutes.

time's been wanky for some years now, keeps happening, get used to it, you'll start seeing it more often now

Take this one: had 2 new pairs of socks, with L and R marked on it. Wore a pair for a day or 2, the right way, wanted to put them on yesterday morning: two left ones...got to the drawers to look at the unopened other pair: two left ones... I know for sure they were matching pairs before. Welcome to my world, where time shifts often and seemingly fixed realities change from day to day.

I gotta second this.

You missed the most brutal episode of GOT.

As already said, hope you had the dvr set, or watch it online somewhere.

Sounds like a VERY sound sleep, in that case1 I typically am not still while sleeping, but it very tired, I won't budge for hours, and will wake up achy. I know people that do what you did; sit or lie down,a nd are awake later, not realizing they slept at all, though I could see them sleeping.

It's the pizza in this case that makes it odd.

I'm willing to bet you didn't lose any time at all, actually. You simply "thought" the clock said 8:57 when you looked at it, when it was actually 9:57. You just had your time wrong. It's easy to do with the sun going down so much later now as it seems like it's earlier than it is.

Also, if it was a digital clock, your view could have seen an 8 when it was actually a nine as they are so similar.

Easy slip-ups really.

Looks like our ancient wisdom (or stupidity) is kicking in again.

Heh, I've been experiencing this too in for the past few weeks. At points time literally does slow down. I actually see objects moving slower (Despite my speedometer reading a speed i am familiar with in terms of the perception of that speed, visually) as well as clock anomalies, and sound is sometimes coming in slower lately.

Hahah, buckle your seat belt dorothy, cause Kansas, is goin bye bye.

What you experienced was the side-effect of a Class A amnesiac.

Same goes for that feeling if you enter a room and forgot what to do there.. Class A. Maybe a skip was near..

DON'T take this seriously, SCP is a very good website for unusual stories.

sounds like you were extracted from the timeline for over an hour to a different timeline, and then returned to the original timeline...........no wait, that doesn't explain the pizza unless the pizza went with you, but then that doesn't explain why it was still hot unless whoever extracted you, tried to cover their tracks by rewarming the pizza but didn't fix the clocks. how about you blacked out when you bent over to get the pizza out of the oven? or was it a microwave oven? edit: oh i see you mentioned it was a toaster oven. was it on the floor or lower enough you had to bend down to take the pizza out? and during this black out, you were still ambulatory and aware enough to realize your pizza was getting cold?

that's one of the weirder timeline stories i've read.
