Has a `doom prediction` thread starter EVER apologised?

Something tells me you don't really know what you're talking about. I think you're right in the sense that some psychics are indeed charlatans and frauds but not all of them. Being able to pick the lottery numbers isn't exactly common in the psychics repertoire, unfortunately. But there are many and more varieties of psychic phenomena all with varying degrees of ability and criteria.

How do you feel regarding RV?

Just so it's clear about sources for psychic predictions and prophecy forum. It is for discussion of predictions from clairvoyantants and ancient prophecies. These would be outside sources.

While dreams and predictions forum is for predictions of a more personal nature. These come from members.

While history does show that there are many more incorrect predictions than correct ones there have been some that were down right scary.
I don't discount the phenomena but I'm not a big supporter of most claims of precognition or prescience. There are too many charlatans out there.
I do believe the ability is real ,but like genius in mathematics, or prodigy piano players, it's not all that common in a degree that could matter.

How about we just delete the accounts of those constantly linking doom porn that has no credibility?

First saying I'd made a failed doom thread, then saying himself in reference to me and now apparently you can hear me speak before I actually do as referenced by your statement what's that you say. It has to be used for good? Did I imply anything along those lines or are you second guessing me? And wrongly by the way.

Don't make decisions for the globe. You always have the right to not read them.
That way people who do want to still can without being at risk of being banned or deleted. That's a little harsh isn't it?

Doom porn threads are fun, especially when they can be picked apart tidbit by tidbit on the spot. But to not have them on ATS would be a loss of good entertainment for us, and the loss of a vent spot for them. I can't really say "No moar doooom pooorn!" because the Fragile Earth section has it's own version, the Experiment in Alternative Methods of Earthquake Prediction thread. Which I've participated in. It's all hunches and feelings there, too, so if I said "can the doom porn threads" I'd be a hypocrite.

BUT. It would be nice once in a great while if a prediction believing OP came back at the end of their thread and said "Oops, I was wrong. My bad, sorry folks." If nothing else, the courtesy would be welcome.

If nothing happened it was obviously a mistake, or just someone goofing. I like the threads because I think to my self if this did happen and someone said it would id be a little bit more prepared lol

Very few people who post the doom porn actually believe what they are posting. Most are in the spirit of 'failure watch'. I can think of probably three people who post here at this time who actually believe the predictions ... and it's because they are posting their own predictions and have deluded themselves into thinking they are prophets.

Why should they? They share in the Dreams and Predictions Forum as is proper, I have not seen and Apology For My Dream Not Coming True Forum or even a General Apology Forum.

Well I posed a dream in which I was given a date, and i did follow through to the end, but by then the thread was long forgotten so no one even noticed. I am sure this is the usual.

I like the doom porn and I think eventually we learn a valuable lesson from them. You may fall for one of them, then you may fall for another, but eventually you catch on that no one knows the future. You then, hopefully, learn to stop trusting everything you hear or read. A valuable lesson most have to learn the hard way.

Your OP and second post sound like you get your jollies reading doom porn and with the high number of doom porn threads in the last 3-4 years and are disappointed that you believed in some.

Surely the inability to foretell something that will be of financial benefit is a massive DUH! about the efficacy of these predications. Unless, as some defensive explanations have stated, they are not in it for the money. Sorry but there is no way in hell every single soothsayer throughout the world is overwhelmed with altruism and not one has a selfish bone in their body. Total BS.

There was one guy ewokboba who made a thread claiming certain people would ascend up to the next plain or whatever just before 2012 it went on for at least a hundred pages and he even involved his mother into his bs.
Of course it never happened but he did make a post saying hevwas mistaken.
