Ugh, yeah...the heat wears me out too. It gets SO hot and humid here in the summers and I'm really grateful to live in an apartment with central air. Otherwise I'd be a puddle on the floor.

So...I feel your pain.

What kind of books do you read, if you don't mind me asking?

Sometimes ya gotta do that I spose. Delete. I usually don't, and leave in my smart assed comm. If someone wants to pick it apart, I guess it's their choice. Well, maybe depends on what I wrote. I usually don't purposely tear up someone, unless they deserve it! But, such as it is here in ATS land... LOL!!!

I think I scared Homer as much as he scared me! LOL!!! (was just messin with the guy......)

I'll go stand in the corner for a time out now Homer. Sor Bud! LOL!!!!! (slinking away from the keyboard)

Weird how Homer was here and then *poof*...gone...
People really are disappearing.

I'm just sort of lurking everywhere now...in the shadows...

Lol Jacy! Homer must be hangin with his alien buds. Drinkin Moltaric Ale, or Venusian Rama. Maybe partaking in some exotic rituals too? C'mon Homer, let us know what's up?!

Well, I read hard science fiction, fantasy, sci if fantasy hybrids, spy thrillers, war novels, psychological thrillers, adventure novels, murder mysteries and so on and so forth.

Also, The Bible, the Dictionary (various), and a coffee table book of the cosmos. All the rest of the reading I do is online at the moment. I have a copy of the Brief History of Time by Hawking also. My favourite book however, has to be my paperback copy of the complete Illustrated Strand Sherlock Holmes stories. I also have a hardcover copy of all the stories, however, it is a far more cumbersome object to manipulate when one is in pursuit of a relaxing read. As a result, my paperback copy is dog eared all to heck, and the hardcover is pristine, or near enough.

True, if I may interject. I like mostly the first three ya listed, and psycho thrillers. Same for movies...... Just sayin since Jacy is hiding in the shadows at the moment. Lol!

Syx...you just made me laugh and spit my tea out!!!

True...well that is a varied selection, isn't it?

I've read so many different books too...from fiction to philosophy, etc. Sometimes when I'm talking to people...afterwards they are surprised at how much I know. (lol)
I'm not bragging, because I don't considered myself to be 'well educated', but 'well read'.
I've learned so much stuff...little stuff....remembered things that I've read...and a surprising amount has been retained.

I spend my reading time online now, but that's most likely due to the fact that my eyes are getting bad, and I can increase my font size if I need to.

Ugh! Now I sound like a little old lady!!! Ahhhhh!
*runs into Shed and slams door, for second time today*

*opens Shed door a crack and peers out*
hahaha....now we're waking the kids? That's funny.

I had prescription glasses...broke them...got cheap reading glasses...break and repeat, lol.
Why do they make the print on everything so damn small?
It's humiliating...holding my arm out full length...then bringing it closer...and closer...*sigh*

The worst part is, in Ontario...every single label has a French side. I stand in stores trying to read instructions, only to realize 5 minutes later that it's in French anyways. Rotate the package, and start over.

My sense of smell is increasing though, to make up for my eyesight and hearing loss.
I SAID....(just kidding....what?)
Carry on.

All the factual reading I do, I do on the internet. I find having reference material at my fingertips, without having to own the text books from which the data is gleaned, a total Godsend. There is nothing like being able to do research in half an hour, that would ordinarily take days to get sources organised for.

I love that aspect of the internet.

But for fiction reading, you cannot beat paper and ink. Nothing properly replaces the feeling of pages between ones fingers.

Oh I agree completely!

Curling up with a book can't be replaced with an electronic device.
Most of my reading is research these days, can't seem to get into fiction....although I like to write it.

Sharing books is nice too...when somebody lends/gives you one to read because they enjoyed it.
I have a lot of books that I refuse to get rid of...would love to have a 'library' room...or even just a wall.

Well.. With regard to somewhere to put ones books, I have a small amount of shelving...

And on the topic of sharing, here's the bulk grocery bag full that my brother in law leant to me the other day...

And this, is a picture of the top of my wardrobe, which has become a sort of default location for books I actually own, but have no current proper shelf space!
