Long time no see, sorry about that I've been around but also been lazy about posting much.

So the million dollar question, how are all the shedites ? I see there are new members, welcome to you all.

Work has calmed down to a slow grind so hopefully I'll be back a lot more, I missed you guys.

I see Cody found his way home. Hello Cody!

Because I had cancer before and there is no guarantee it won't return, Doctors always want extra visits and tests. Sigh...
hard to relax and not think about it. My new cancer doc is working with me though and didn't order extra blood work and gave me a discount on the office visit and said I could wait a bit for any more tests. He knows my regular doc will be checking the elevated white blood cell counts and between the two of them I'll be looked after. Still...I don't want to keep facing this. I want to be left alone. And coverage or no coverage, it cost a lot of money.

I could have died when I had that accident where I was hit as a pedestrian by a mini van but noooooooo, I suffered like a son of a bee and it screwed up an already bad back. I haven't been the same physically ever since. Had two kinds of breast cancers at the same time, one was aggressive and I could have died then but noooooo. Now I have to live always seeing doctors, having tests and fearing for my life. I must have been really, really bad in another life. LOL

If you notice I haven't posted a comment in any of your stories in a day or two, please remind me to read them. Just had a lot on my mind and I want to sit quietly and enjoy them when I'm not so flustered.

While I can't say that I know what you have and are going through in life, I think we all have had our brushes with death. I look into my past and realize how many times I have escaped or cheated it myself. A friend summed it up for me...

"Doug, you're to stupid or stubborn to know when to die when you should."

I prefer stubborn.

Or, you can look at it this way - There was a purpose as to why you're still here: It wasn't in the cards just yet.

If there's anything my near-deaths/near misses in the past taught me, it was that if anything, the only reason survived was to give an Ex a year's worth of happy moments. I suspect that there will be more people that I'll change by being here.

Don't give in, don't give up - keep on fighting.

@Gordi - Just to prove you wrong, I made hot chocolate over the stove top, which was delicious (in a good-humored way)
