This was my first thought too actually. They are very fastidious about putting stuff under cover even when it doesn't really matter. Also the flight of three seemed more than just a "test" flight. More a show of power, a VIC of penetrators.

May be the return of the skyquake has something in common with the new sightings?

Both the same mission. There's a reason that they both look similar.
Aha! So now we know it's a new stealth bomber! I wonder what the range and payload capacity is?
(sshh, if we keep playing 20 questions, maybe Zaphod will slip up hehe)
There is no "right" answer, because this is a new plane.
I don't think it's a B2, the angles are wrong for one thing.

The whole fleet is getting reskinned. They get a new skin every few years as improvements to RAM coatings are made. There were a number of screw ups, including by the fire department in that fire. It should have been put out almost immediately, and they screwed up fighting it.
Here is the Executive Summary of the AIB report.

Most of them had multiple flights. The exception being the one offs. The X planes were key to the technology advances that we are seeing today.
