I don't find your sources to be credible.

This thread is NOT about Annett, it's about the subsequent fallout of his work. If you watched the documentary, you would understand the Christian philosophy around his invented court.

This thread is about the mistreatment and genocide of the Native American People, (First Nation) not about your wild waving and distractions from the issues of the abuse that was purposely perpetrated by the Church with the sanction of the Crown and the Canadian government.

If you were a true Christian, (Yeah that's right!) and not just a shill for the Catholic Church, you wouldn't spend so much time and energy defending them and deflecting from their abuses, arguing the numbers and assassinating the character of those whom you oppose. Good Christians don't try to cover up the abuses their churches commit. We know them by their fruits.

I am listening to your precious documentary now, and all I've seen thus far is eyewitness testimony to mistreatment of individuals, which no one has ever said did not happen. I've heard no actual evidence of mass murders.

At twenty minutes, there is a blatant falsehood, when Annett claims that he was "fired without cause."

Here's what the United Church of Canada had to say about his departure:

Mr. Annett claims that he was fired by the United Church for raising the residential school issue (his film, book, website). In fact, Mr. Annett resigned his position as minister of St. Andrew's United Church in Alberni, British Columbia, in writing when faced with questions about his competence for ministry. Mr. Annett's de-listing as a United Church minister was the result of two Formal Hearings conducted according to the rules of evidence of the Province of British Columbia. The report of the Formal Hearing is found on the British Columbia Conference website . For more than a decade, Mr. Annett has repeatedly made disparaging public statements which verge on defamation about a number of the United Church officials and members who were involved in the process that led to his name being placed on the church's discontinued service list. That says that he wasn't fired, but rather that he resigned, and then was de-listed as a minister when he refused to participate in the proceedings on his competence as a minister, which is in accordance with the transcripts of those hearings, which I posted earlier.

It is also in accordance with Annett's own claim, from his "Chronology of attacks on Kevin Annett" page:

January 8, 1995: Kevin offers his resignation to the St. Andrew's church Board, via Fred Bishop, out of concern for his childrens' safety and because of his need to apply soon for another church posting. Kevin asks Board to allow him to work until June 30, 1995. Bishop accepts resignation "with deep regret" and asks board to accept Kevin's request to work until June 30. Board agrees. (Source)

Oh, and I'll add that, while it may be due to the quality of the YouTube video that Murgatroid posted, but anyone who watches this thing and thinks that it's deserving of any award doesn't know much about filmmaking. The sound levels are horribly mixed, and the overall feel is that of a university student film.

I can understand the outrage that some people who have, because they're not familiar with this subject, but as a film, it's pretty poorly done. Even compared to a History Channel documentary, it's pretty amateur.

It has been proven that Annett dug up animal bones at the direction of a psychic, and then lied about it, saying that the bones were "from a mass grave" that Ground Penetrating Radar had discovered.

You asked what was false in his documentary, and I said his claim that 50,000 children were killed was, and provided evidence for that, and yet I'm the one who's wrong, because I won't take the word, with no evidence, of a lunatic. He's actually gone so far as to say that 50,000 to 100,000 were killed -- 2/3 of the children in those schools were killed, and yet there are no mass graves, no testimony that "66% of my classmates were murdered", nothing whatsoever.

Obviously you haven't watched the documentary. Annett makes no claim of 50,000 children killed, the Indians do. There is no digging up bones or claims of mass graves.

There's clearly a smear campaign making outrageous claims against Annett.

It's funny that those behind your imagined "smear campaign" are people who Annett still claims to represent, and, while they have proof of his lying and fabrication of evidence, the response in support of him is blind devotion, such as you display, or moronic claims of Freemason and Illuminati conspiracy that a third grader would laugh at.

I believe that Lydia White Calf is featured in your precious documentary.

Lydia White Calf is the wife of a residential school survivor who put a lot of her time and energy into supporting Kevin Annett. She has given him 10′s of thousands of dollars to fund his personal expenses, travel expenses and the printing of his self-published books. Over time, Lydia realized that Kevin was not behaving in a way she would expect of a ‘reverend’ who said he was working on the survivor’s behalf. When she spoke out, he labelled her as a ‘black ops’ operative- does that sound familiar? (Source)

Again, if you can't discuss the content of the documentary, you and I have nothing more to discuss.

The subject of this thread is not Kevin Annett's documentary.

It is the supposed trial of the Canadian government and the credibility of the source of that "Historic Breaking News", Kevin Annett. Unless you have evidence that a legitimate court held a legitimate trial, and an impartial judge or jury found Stephen Harper, Queen Elizabeth and Pope Francis guilty of crimes against humanity, you're as baseless as Annett and his foolish show trials.

Few people know what really happened during that Tribunal in 1998...the Circle of Justice fell apart because of Annett. These were real activists doing the work themselves, using their own scholars and researchers to make real headway. Then Kevin stole their testimony...tried to submit a PhD thesis using it...and write his books and make Unrepentant from it... Few Native people who have come in contact with Annett have come out unscathed.

His 'evidence' that brought down Ratzinger included a video taped interview with Dr. Jennifer Wade of Amnesty International lauding the angelic Rev. Annett. The tribunal happened in 2012. The interview happened in 2008. Yet in a letter to his radio producer he called her a liar.... Now how do you use a liar's testimony to convict a criminal??

Thanks Nell. Jennifer is lying again. I knew Lori when I was still with Pam, but Pam was leaving me for the Maritimes anyway, after family pressure made her want to go home, and she actually thanked me for giving her the excuse to leave me.

But there's more to it. Pam's dad is a United Church minister who was always wary about me, and he exploded after Pam asked him about the sterilization doctor, George Darby, whom her dad knew. Then he started urging Pam to leave me because frankly he was scared of what might come out about his links to Darby. Pam admitted al this to me and I told Jennifer.

I actually know next to nothing about Annett. As for the quote you cite, which I’ve seen a number of times, it could be real, though I don’t remember it. It would have almost certainly been an ironic comment about the Nobel Prize. Virtually anyone you pick at random is more deserving than Henry Kissinger and other first class war criminals. Reminds me of when Obama won the prize. Before I’d heard about it, I was called by a Norwegian newspaper for a statement. The only thing I could think of was something similar: by the standards of the prize, not too bad I suppose.

Jason Bowman was not some unconfirmed identity... I spoke with Bill Squires of Brantford (Mohawk Workers) who has had Bowman hanging around there for many years... Bowman and Annett worked together and Annett spoke of Bowmans de jure submission at QCB...It was mentioned by Annett on Kevin's own radio shows several times...

I find it suspicious how much power Kevin Annett's detractors give him.

The Crown and the Canadians government, in collusion with the United Church and the Catholic Church violently kidnapped hundreds of thousands of children, threw them in unsanitary and inhuman environments where they were beaten, tortured and exposed to deadly disease, drugged, sterilized and murdered by nuns and priests. Now I ask you, "Can there be too many voices denouncing this injustice?"

Who wields the most influence, The Crown, the Vatican and the Canadian government or some loud mouth activist? Who's the easier target and who has the greater motivation and resources to destroy a person's life and reputation?

It seems to me that worst criticism of Kevin Annett is that he refused to keep what he learned quite and that he was too enthusiastic and too naive. Your question has already been answered MANY times in the thread:

Posting a link to a video that does not include any evidence of 50,000 deaths is not evidence.

If that's your only response, then you have no evidence. Annett made up the number, as I showed earlier, then put it in the mouths of the people in your video. They are not experts testifying, they are regular people relating anecdotal evidence of what they saw, which was already known prior to the video being made, and which does not support claims of 50,000 deaths.

The only documented evidence, that provided by the Canadian Truth and Reconciliation Commission, is that between 3,000 and 4,000 children died in the Residential Schools, the vast majority due to disease in the early 1900s.

If you wish to set aside your silly theories, do some actual research and present salient facts that prove that 50,000 children were murdered by the Canadian government, I will be happy to listen to you. Barring that, you have nothing to add to the debate.

There you go again, denial and dismissal!

I don't believe this commission any more than I believe the Warren Report or the 911 Commission Report. Why would anyone trust the people responsible for these crimes to tell the truth? I especially don't trust you to post non biased information, as you have shown that protecting the reputation of the "Church" is more important to you than people lives.

The Catholic Church continues to hide behind denial culpability and still hasn't adequately apologized for their role in the purposeful genocide of Native Americans.

Why do you think I care whether you believe them or not? You've made it clear that you prefer wild claims with no evidence to contrary parties with documented evidence. That's called willful ignorance, but you're welcome to it.

As for the Catholic Church, you either didn't watch Annett's documentary or you didn't pay much attention to it -- his primary axe to grind in that film is the United Church of Canada, the church he was booted out of. The Catholic Church isn't ignored, of course, but it's not the focus. His more recent fixation on "Baby eating Popes" seems to be the result of his attempt to gain followers in Europe as his support in Canada has dwindled.

That said, while I defend the church against idiocy like the ITCCS, I have never said that there are no nuns and priests who are guilty of abuse, or bishops and church hierarchy guilty of covering it up. There is no doubt in my mind that there are Catholics who are guilty of abusing or even killing children in the Indian Residential Schools, but nowhere near the exaggerated frequency that Annett and you would have me believe.

That's the difference between myself and most of the other people in the thread -- I prefer the truth over fantasy, even when it's not something I'm proud to be a part of.
