Fox News now reporting that the Jihad threat from a few days ago is a 'SEPARATE THING' from this shooting. They aren't saying how they know this ... but thats what Shepard Smith just said ....

It has to be otherwise they have some big time egg on their faces, so this will be separate thing right up until it's not. And if it is a separate thing, that's actually worse, IMO.

Cripes! I did a double take and had to check the date on this OP...how can this happen there again?

Largest percentage of military personnel on a base aren't combat soldiers. Mostly support staff.

The largest portion of Combat MOS's are young single Soldiers living in the Barracks, a third of which are NCOs.

Most people who live off post are people looking to get a good deal with whatever their allowed for on their BAH Allotment.

A huge majority of Officers an Senior NCOs are married and live off post, though just as many live On Post.

Why live on post?
No light Bill.
Cheap Groceries.
Free services for house, POV, lawn care, etc.
and many more perks.

Wow Gretta VanSustrend was just cut off on her own show. Something is going on here. Shepherd Smith cut her off and talked over her, then the camera dropped Gretta and just had Smith repeating the general report of the incident. She was asking about the report the FBI received of a jihad that was threatened against Ft. Hood the other day. Then Smith said this isn't connected. Then Gretta tried to press the issue and ask why isn't it connected. The the producer trashed her feed and went to Smith. Something is up here.

Am I the only here who is confused by the number of injured people and the people at large? I mean they found one suspect with a Handgun... At a military base none the less? Where is the sniper corp?

Reporting this is confirmed by Ft Hood.

But they also said one dead and ALSO the shooter dead...that is def not clear as to if just the shooter is dead.

if our troops were allowed to be armed on military posts like they should .. this would have been over in seconds. Why the politicians disarmed our troops on their own military bases is STRANGE.

Seems a bit strange that two mass shootings would occur there, carried out by men with the last names of "Hassan" and "Hasan." Bizarre.

I have a feeling we'll soon be told that there is no second gunman. Seems there usually (officially) isn't.

BBC have just interviewed a Lieutenant from the base who cannot confirm anybody in custody or how many gunmen or whether a gunman has been shot.

Just got CNN news alert.The shooter is dead.

The crazy part about this, The shooting popped off at 1630, I had just left BN at 1626.

My BN is on Battalion Rd., in fact it happened less then a mile away.

Its very possible I was driving home during the shooting and had no idea.

Reality just shattered.
