Im actually still trying to understand your correlation too. That wasnt a very funny "jew image" you described compared to all the bush and obama monkey pics posted. And there are quite a few good jokes about jews and swastikas and every other demograph...just not yours.

Just when I thought all hope was loss for us as a Country. I really want to applaud all of you guys for putting those petty "obama-hate" feelings to the side. I am dead serious, it is cool to see people that are just "not having it". This was in very, very poor taste and very immature-whatever the cause is.

For the record linking apes to anyone of African descent is an old old weapon of racism which is completely erroneous and completely immature from Darwin to his Eugenics promoting cousin. There is nothing anti Christian about the pictures, being mischevious is not anti Christian, and I honestly do not see the racism in the pictures, but then again I do not think in terms of racism. It truly shows where your mindset is.

Danes speak their mind, to the point it becomes offensive yes, to some. In fact in Danish culture they have a term called "cosey racism", like racism is to be considered cosey. I have lived all around the world and Danes are the most stonch nationlists and (I wouldn't say open minded, more open mouthed ).

In fact their laws regarding dual nationality (it is simply not allowed), along with many laws designed to protect Danes (and prevent non-Danes), are being challenged head on in the EU. Danes are some of the shallowest superficial people in the European Union.

I certinally would not use Denmark as a good model. Free speech and offensive hate speech is a very gray and fine line, variable, depending on whom one asks.

It is a difficult thing to judge and somebody somewhere is always offended.


It could be argued on ATS there is no freedom of speech, in fact if you openly and routinely criticise America and so forth, you will eventually (and usually quickly) end up with having to make new accounts. Free speech only exists in limited amounts everywhere, until you piss somebody off that disagrees with their view.

We truly are raising a generation of sissies. People complain about bullying all over the US now and if people are offended by someone placing a monkey face onto someone as a political joke then I am beginning to understand things a bit. I agree with you for the most part about sissies and bulllies. I really do. But when something offends an individual that is in poor taste and I exclaim my dislike for it that makes me a sissy?!?!?! What would you prefer, someone to laugh at things that are intended to be funny to toddlers.

honestly thats the one thing i actually miss about bush....he looked like a bewildered chimp and we were actualy allowed to call him this (what with no social stigma about it)

more on topic if its from a satire site that somewhat explains it but still kind of surprised they decided to run with it
